On the Fence
Rep. Boucher is cosponsoring H.R. 3308, the Secure America Through Verification and Enforcement (SAVE) Act of 2009. The bipartisan SAVE Act would help reduce illegal immigration by broadening and enhancing border security and interior enforcement measures.
He has voted in the past in favor of a pathway to legalization but then again he has voted negatively towards the immigrant community. He does not want children born to undocumented aliens in the US to be instantly granted citizenship. He is against the lottery visa that are given out every year and he is also not in favor of giving out work permits/visas to foreign workers.
I consider him to be on the fence because it seems he may favor to legalize people in the US with the proper steps in a very strict form of CIR.
