That should pretty much be it. As we go along and receive information, we should take time to edit our posts to better help others and also come to a conclusion as a group on what the estimated process time could be. Of course the process time is dependent on a individual's case, almost all of us here have pretty much the same situations.

how long after you send the letter to deca does it take for them to email you that they received their the letter.

It really depends when they received your package and even then it's not definite

So far it appears the estimates are...

(weekdays; no Sat. or Sun.)

Aug. 16th: 2-3 days
Aug. 17th: 4-6 days
Aug. 20th: ?-? days

Again processing time will vary, I'm sure they got much more on the 17th and 20th than they did on the 16th.

Really happy I sent it in so soon. I'm curious how many non-DAP members have gotten their notification so far. Is it a huge number of them? Or just 10K like you mentioned?

once you receive your receipt number - go to USCIS case status - subtract a couple of thousand and do a search until you find application received on the 16th. This will not be exact since they have every application received and not just I-821D but it will give you a good idea of where you are.

Keep in mind though that our receipt numbers aren't just for I-821d applications, I just subtracted a few thousand from my number and got a notice on an I-485 application... so it's hard to tell how far in we are.

Here's what I have found by searching for receipt numbers and dates:
(last 5 digists of receipt)
41769 8/20
37759 8/17
31359 8/17

I didn't put too much time into, but if someone keeps searching, we can probably find a receipt number for DACA on 8/15 or 8/16.

Although this does mean that my receipt number is 13k after the earliest one above, i did find that a lot of the receipt numbers are for other applications, usually i-485 and i-765, so a guess that we all are within the first 10k can't be too far off.

____UPDATE______

The earliest receipt I was able to find for I-821D ends in 31148 and is dated 8/16.
I went number by number on the USCIS site starting at 31000 and 31148 is the first one i found for i821d. There were plenty of other types of petitions, which is making me think that specifically for the i821d, we may all be within the first 1k applicants.

Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS California Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number WAC********. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.

It seems they're redistribute cases as they reach a certain number per Service Center.
ie. At First 10000 to Nebraska, next 10000 to California etc.
Because I can't seem to find an identifier to why they're being re-routed. I know some cases were sent to Vermont, but they defy any publicly known information.

After your case is deferred. So more like next year.

I765 apps have a limit of 90 day to be approved or denied. DACA applicants' time does not count after your I821d case is approved. So if your I821d takes 10 years, you'r get your card in 10 years and no more than 3 months after.

Nebraska does not even seem to process I821 or Regular TPS apps, so I wonder how much experience they have with sucks cases.

I know it's redundant, but hey, since I sent mine today, I thought why not see who else is sending theirs, and then we can kind of see how long it takes for our applications to start being processed. Some folks are already getting theirs, hoping we don't have to wait too long for ours. So, I'll start

they must be delayed with tons of apps, still very nerve wrecking :p specially after i read this

Acceptance
During the acceptance step USCIS reviews newly received applications and petitions to ensure that they are properly filed (i.e. signed by the applicant, appropriate fees, etc.) USCIS issues a receipt number for the application or petition, and sends a receipt notice to the applicant or petitioner.

Applications and petitions that are not properly filed are rejected with an explanation of why the application is rejected and the corrective action needed. Rejected applications or petitions do not retain their filing date.

The acceptance step is typically completed within 2 business days of when the application is received. With mail time it may take several weeks for you to get the receipt or rejection notice in the mail. If you do not receive your notice within 30 days of mailing your application, please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283

Hey ppl. I'm new here though I have been reading through the forum, I officially decided to join cos I fined it insightful. Sent my app on aug 16th through express, was going to send it to the address in the right but when I called the hotline to confirm the add the lady gave me the one in the left. So yeah confused me sent it express but to the PO.box address. So I just paid the extra money for express 4 nothing :(.
I got my acceptance letter yesterday though Aug 24. Yippe :D

It should..basically they are waiting for background check to come before they can give you deferred action and if your evidence is good, then they will approve it...the faster they get the background check, the faster your case moves.

This is exactly what I need. I'm doing 17 credit hours and on Mondays and Wednesdays I'm booked back to back from 9:30 to 5pm (i'm starving when i'm done haha) and on tuesdays and thursdays i have labs and what's really dumb is it's a ONE credit thing but i have to stay there for three hours.../rant

And just minutes earlier before receiving the text, I had called my Bank and they had told me my money order had not been cashed yet. LOL I was surprised when I got the notifications :P YAY. the on;y way to assume you're clear is after biometrics, when you get approval letter.

I filed on 15th, got there 16th by noon, and only got the I-797C's today. You guys got the biometrics today as well/ Hopefully i get mine tomorrow.:p

No it does not. The biometrics is just one of the last steps. They have to run your fingerprints through to make sure you don't come up in their system anywhere. Once that is completed they will make their decision, yay or nay. No one knows for sure how long the whole process is going to take though. As far as the background checking and decision making process is concerned.

LOL, guys! He's getting ASC in Rhode Island. C'mon now. What's the immigration population like in RI compared to NYC, CA, TX? Exactly.

They do it based on location and available dates for ASC/biometrics. He's fortunate because he's not in an area where people are coming in to do biometrics. I'm sure if there was a Dreamer in Montana, they'd probably do biometrics NEXT WEEK.

If you get the I-797C, it basically means your I-821D has been accepted. Right?

It means that everything is fine with your application (no rejection/resubmit).

Means that you are going to go through biometrics, go do the background check, etc. If all is clear and evidence is approved, I821D is officially approved and I765 can go get processed!

Pending the background check, I would say so. Unless, they just want to run all of us for the heck of it. That, however, can be seen as a waste since they would just be running unqualified applicants and wasting money. On the other hand, it can be beneficial for just ID-ing undocumented individuals, since chances are the person, though denied, is undocumented since he/she applied.

I went to USCIS to check my status with my receipt number (that I got today) and it already gave me info on my case :)
It says this :
"On August 21, 2012, we received this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.

Why would you check the time for a different process? 821 is for temporary protected status, besides, you're just scaring yourself. What we've heard is 3-6 months. I also heard 6-12 months, but things seem to be moving along okay so far.

RFE might be at anytime after you submit your 821d, they only check your App for completeness, not for the quality of documentation, at the service center adjudication officials check the evidence etc, and send out RFE's.

When they start checking, might be today tomorrow next week who knows.

^ why the heck did you do that? -.-' I don't mean to be rude but the information is clearly out there and I honestly don't get how people don't pay attention to what they write. And I mean, Double-check things anyone??????

Okay *takes a deep breath* sorry I just had to vent, I'm in a bad mood today. But anyway, IMO I don't think it will affect your application. They will have to sign for the delivery either way and they will have to open your package to see what's this whole AOS thing about... so if you did include a Table of Content/Cover page which says Deferred action for blah blah blah ... They'll process it correctly. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

That's my opinion anyway.

^ why the heck did you do that? -.-' I don't mean to be rude but the information is clearly out there and I honestly don't get how people don't pay attention to what they write. And I mean, Double-check things anyone??????

I know! I feel like an IDIOT:-( but the reason I did that was because I saw it on the I-765 instructions but then saw the info about putting Attn: DACA
I did do a cover page with a table of contents so I hope that helps so it doesn't get delayed as much!

Instead of Attn: DACA I put Attn: AOS (Adjustment Of Status)

Please help, will it delay my application? Will it get denied? Will it be thrown to the bottom of the pile? :(

Hey man, don't even worry about it. I did the same thing because thats what the I-765 instructions stated. I sent mine via FedEX to Lewisville location and put AOS instead of DACA, they accepted it and now is in route to Nebraska. Once they open your package they will know its a DACA application.

Thank you so much for sharing this with me, you definitely put me at ease. Just wondering when did your application get delivered and did you enter without inspection or with some type of Visa? I heard applications with Visa entries are processing quicker.

Ambitious101 never mind I saw your post with that info just now.
For future reference EVEN THOUGH I-765 say to label it ATTN: AOS it has to actually say ATTN: DACA

Yea I realized that after I sent it and I was worried as well, but I called USCIS and they told me that it wasnt a big deal. The officials would know what application you're filing because they have to open your package. IF you're missing something that's when they will send it back. I've read posts where the people put the wrong "P.O. Box" and they're applications were still processed so we are good. lol

No problem. Yea I came to the U.S. when I was 2 with a Visitors Visa (B2 I believe), but it expired a long time ago (I am now 19), but that's normal for most of us DREAMERS; that's why we are in this situation lol.
