This thread's purpose is to show the process times we have received for our applications. This will better assist someone in the future when they apply for DACA.

_____________________
Use the following format:

Date Application Sent -
The Lockbox the application was sent to -
Mailing Method (Express, priority, certified) etc. -
Date delivered -
Date acceptance letter of application received -
Date of I-797 C Notice of Action (Application Approved) -
Date Biometrics scheduled -
Date of EAD received -

_____________________

That should pretty much be it. As we go along and receive information, we should take time to edit our posts to better help others and also come to a conclusion as a group on what the estimated process time could be. Of course the process time is dependent on a individual's case, almost all of us here have pretty much the same situations.

Where did you guys get the I-797 C form? It looks like whoever maintains the USCIS website for that section forgot to add their link and instead has a local link from the computer they created the page from: FILE:\\C:\Documents%20and%20Settings\jjtorres\Local%20Settings\Temporary%20Internet%20Files\Content.Outlook\OESEL7TS\1797C%20Front.pdf

This is what an I-797 C Notice of Action is. (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=9d4f068d9c456310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD)

I understand that, but if you try to download that form from the site, it gives an error because it's not linked to an actual form... instead, it's linked to the file in the computer whichever person created that page used.

You don't need to have the I-797 C Notice of Action nor do you have to download it. They send it to you. (Maybe I'm not understanding your question).

Because it is not a form. It is essentially a letter that USCIS sends you saying if you're approved, rejected or request for evidence.

Within that letter, USCIS wants you to fill out certain things needed on your part for the process to continue. Or they may want you to do something instead of filling something out. I've never had one but I've seen them.

from http://www.uscis.gov/i-821d

Where to File :

Where you file depends on your state of residence; check our Filing Addresses for Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals for the correct mailing address.

Form I-765's instructions refer you back to I-821D's website. You'll always want to check the forms' websites.

I think it would also help if you include your location. For instance, if you live in Chicago and sent it to Chicago then it would go faster than others like myself who lives in Virginia.

I didn't waive the signature because the USPS worker told me not to because it's important for what I'm sending (I think he knew what was going on)

Nope, mine wasn't delivered because no one could sign it. Seems silly.. didn't they anticipate a bunch of us wanting confirmation that it was delivered?

I'm not that surprised at how many people sent their stuff in on the first day, but don't you think they're more likely to mess up your app if you're one of the first? You're kind of the guinea pigs and they might be more strict and picky about stuff idk idk- I think I'm gonna wait another week or so. Until they get the hang of things.

See the thing is, they're probably getting so many applications already that most packets wont even be open for another couple of days, possibly weeks. if thats the case, you don't have any need to worry.

Or they'll be more lenient because they don't know really what they're doing. To be honest, I don't think it'll be a huge difference. For me sending it in now just got a huge load off my shoulders.

"Basado en nuestra experiencia con el TPS, nosotros nunca empezamos el mismo día. Esto es un proceso nuevo que inmigración no tiene la experiencia. La experiencia con el TPS es que en los primeros días ahogaron el sistema. Los que entraron luego salían más rápido que los enviados primero. Basados en ello, le hemos recomendado a nuestra gente que aguante hasta el sábado. Creemos que es una decisión sabia".

"Based on our experience with TPS, we never begin (processing forms) on the same day. This is a new process that immigration has no experience with. The experience with (existing) TPS was such that during the first (few?) days they overwhelmed the system. Those who submitted their cases shortly afterwards were processed faster than those who rushed their filings. Based on this experience, we recommend that you wait until Saturday to submit your case. We believe it is a wise decision."

Or they (USCIS) LEARNED from the TPS experience, are actually more prepared this time around, and it won't be so bad for the rushers. (Always the bright side, guys!)

We all have the same, they tried at 11:31 then again at 12:21, which is when this JC signed.

What I am wondering now, is, when will we get an update or something?

Mine was delivered at the same time too! The guy must've gotten tired from signing all our packages, his handwriting was messy on mine lol We will probably go to the next step around the same time!!!

Who knows... my app will get there tomorrow so I am not concerned, at all. Plus in my situation an extra month or two of wait is a negligible period.

Oh wow, they left it at the door? That's very strange for an Express Mail. What's the purpose of sending via Express to get a signature if they will just leave it at the door? =/ That's silly. Hopefully the people at the USCIS got it though, maybe they were out to lunch at that time XD . You could always try calling the USPS facility in Chicago to see what's the deal with that. =/ Idk.

After that, they did end up delivering it at 12;39. which seems to makes sense bc other people did get their JC signatures at 12:39pm.. but it seems like it bounced from the door back to 60604 before getting to 60603. haha. ..... any long as its there. :)
Oh and my bad. it DID NOT say Left at Door. *yikes!* lol It just said Notice Left (No Authorized Recipient Available). Then at 12:39. it was "delivered." :)

No one said it is an application approval or deferred action has been granted... It is an application acceptance.. Which means it contains all the documents necessary to be processed...

We still need to wait to hear back from the Nebraska service center to get the appointment for biometrics, which will come about next week for my case... and also wait for any RFE(Requests for Evidence) they might inquire.. hopefully none for me...

Do you read before you write?

You are saying exactly what I pointed out. Your previous post, however, contradicts what we are both getting at. You stated that the I-797C notice is of application approval. I stated that it is not application approval, but simply acceptance/receipt.

They said all four of their service centers would be reviewing the applications.(Texas service center, California service center, Nebraska service center, and Vermont service center..and me sending the application from Dallas to Dallas was hoping they would send it to mesquite, tx(20 min from Downtown dallas) where the Texas service center, but I guess they are doing it differently

It's going to take a few days for them to send you the confirmation that they received it. They are barely on the one's that got send on August 15-August 16 i think... Wait a few days. It will probably take 1 week for each date. thats my guess.

for example
August 15-16 they started getting their notifications this week.
August 17- My guess is that they will start with those next week. and so on..

It's going to take a few days for them to send you the confirmation that they received it. They are barely on the one's that got send on August 15-August 16 i think... Wait a few days. It will probably take 1 week for each date. thats my guess.

for example
August 15-16 they started getting their notifications this week.
August 17- My guess is that they will start with those next week. and so on..

They got mine Aug 17th and I already received my notification yesterday.

797 just confirms that they received your application and all info they needed was filled out and money order / check was the right amount. Now the biometrics date will be given and then USCIS officer will review application.

The 797 everyone is referring to is the text / email send to them. The actual 797 may have biometrics date with it

There are different types of I-797 the one we are receiving first is I-797 not I-797c which just shows our application has been accepted with our receipt number (if I'm not mistaken)

I'm really confused my lawyer has filled the application online. Now he says that he is sending me papers to sign and to send along money order and passport pictures along with papers signed back to him so he can send everything in.. But I see here that everybody is sending them themselves through UPS so I'm I supposed to send them my self or my lawyer does it for me??

you could send them yourself, but if your lawyer is competent they will ask for them back to make sure everything is correct/included. UPS is not USPS, I'd say most people are mailing them through the latter.

There is no need for confusion, first of all you could have done everything yourself and sent the application yourself, but since you are already paying a lawyer to do it he will take care of it. The process you are going through will prolong your wait time and save you 5-10 hours you would waste by gathering everything in which you have already and filled out the forms.

I think he meant he filled in adobe reader pdf format and send the file to your email so that you can printout forms and sign on them. At thi spoint, he does not mean e-file to USCIS, but fill in pdf format. So do not worry. He will take care of them.

I apologize - you are right...

you get two I-797C 's. One for form I-821D and another for form I-765. (just like you got two emails with two case numbers)

The I-797C just confirms receipt and acceptance of the petition. NOTE: Acceptance is NOT approval. They are two different things.

The form tells you everything is received and the next step is biometrics and that you will get another letter in the mail with the appointment to go and get the biometrics done. I am still waiting for that one.

From the uscis.gov/childhoodarrivals "Filing Process" section

"After your Form I-821D, Form I-765, and Form I-765 Worksheet have been received, USCIS will review them for completeness, including submission of the required fee, initial evidence and supporting documents. If it is determined that the request is complete, USCIS will send you a receipt notice. USCIS will then send you an appointment notice to visit an Application Support Center (ASC) for biometric services. Please make sure you read and follow the directions in the notice. "

To me that means that at least they feel that most evidence was submitted accordingly. The head guy for USCIS for AZ and NV said that if it was received incomplete that they would return the whole packet back and not issue a notice. Disclaimer here, I am not a lawyer, but from what he says to some incomplete apps slipping thru the initial cracks would not be surprising.
