Re: I am in removal proceedings

Sorry I meant the change.org petition does not exist anymore, I still think the reason they gave seems stupid on their part, and found it easier to believe that they dropped the case.

Hi XXXX

Despite the fact that Prerna is a DREAM-eligible student, with four generations of family ties to the United States, no criminal record, excellent academic credentials and a long history of working for marginalized communities, she could be deported away to a country that she hasn't seen for more than half her life, and where she has no family.

Please donate to Prerna's, DreamActivist.org co-founder, legal fees

Prerna was denied a green-card after she aged out of a petition filed for her mom by her U.S. citizen grandmother. The interviewing USCIS officer placed her in removal proceedings, with charges that make no sense . Funnily, if Prerna lived in Texas, Mississippi or Louisiana, she would have won her green card. Unfortunately, her case is in California right now, where the law is not as favorable to her particular situation.

Help Prerna stay in the U.S. by donating to her legal fees.

Instead of giving in to a broken system that is now trying to illegitimately deport her away from her family, Prerna has decided to battle this injustice in immigration court. Her next court hearing is on November 10 in San Francisco. Unfortunately, as a law student who receives no federal or state aid, she is financially constrained in her ability to pay for hefty court battles. She was also placed on leave from work as the government has yet to renew her work authorization.

Prerna has already paid in excess of $2500 in legal fees. We need to raise $1500 so that she can file relevant documents in court to stay her proceedings. XXXX, anything you are able to give will go a long way to helping Prerna stay in the U.S.

Thank you for your support,

Maria Marroquin

P.S. For more information and to keep abreast her case, please see her Facebook support group here.

All of the work we do is volunteer run, consider making a donation to support us.
listed above is also the reason they are giving to attempt to deport her.
