I'm older than all of you guys (apparently). Clubs are not the places to meet people. Most people go there with friends, pay overpriced drinks, and deal with douchebags. I don't really know anybody over 25 that still goes clubbing to be honest.

If you really want to go, go to a place where your friends are regulars and slide the bouncer a 20. Or go to a place where your friends work. Of all the things to fantasize about doing - college, working at a big company, driving, etc. clubbing should be the last thing on your mind...and you can do it already if you want.

There are clubs for 30's plus 36 isn't that old anyway. It is the new 26. Drinks are definitely overpriced and a waste of money. Dude, I know people in 40's that are clubbing. I like dance and there are hot girls there.

Well older people still go out and have fun, but there are two classes of older people (30-40) - the yuppie/urban professional and the suburban types.

The urban yuppies tend to know where the latest lounges are where they may or may not be dancing. On some occasions they may go to a brand new club where they either know the people who work there or it's a special occasion (someone is getting married and they're doing a guys' girls' night out type of thing) and they get bottle service (that's where you pay $300 for a $30 bottle of Grey Goose Vodka and they reserve an area for you). The key point is that it's a feeling of being exclusive.

Then you have the suburban clubbers who usually stay out in the suburbs and except for a neighborhood bar or a sports bar, don't get out much. They have no clue what club just opened in the "big city". To them, the big city is scary because it has minorities and what not.

For them, they tend to go to watered down "three clubs in one" type of deal. I could name a few in my own city but I'm sure they're everywhere. These are the clubs where on one floor they still think 50 cent is cool and on the other they're playing whoever the latest metrosexual cowboy is popular. These suburbanites don't know the difference.

The problem is that these 3 clubs in one types of places which tend to be near an interstate and far away from the more exclusive places is they also bring out a lot of the thugs that can't get into the Downtown/Midtown/hot part of town lounges and clubs. So this started another trend mostly out in the suburbs where they say you have to be 30+ ...I went to one and it was like a pickup lounge from the 70's...same cats that must have went to those places too except now they're in their 50's and 60's and it was a scary sight. Props for them for being able to get laid without the internet though and just walking and talking to strangers.

So that's my experience. A couple of years ago I was running late to a birthday party at a club that had just opened and they wouldn't let me in also...not because of ID, but because they had the velvet rope and they'd let in all the 22 year old porn star looking girls and the guy with the Ferrari...Way too old for those games. If I'm going to spend $10 on drinks, I'll go where they appreciate it and many do.

I've trained my mind to be very observant, and I deduce stuff very well like Sherlock Holmes. I'm willing to bet they were joking. It's weird that he wants to be so mysterious. I would probablyy be too, but I'm trying to make some new friends here.
