I just called USCIS regarding the federal benefits for same sex couple including fixing your status, and the lady said that as in rightnow uscis is studying the ruling of the supreme court and they don't know yet, however I should keep checking their website for updates regarding this

Considering the decision will be appealed...It'll be interesting to see people getting married 'all of a sudden' who could've been married long ago but haven't.

I'm so excited for this outcome too!! so now we don't have to fight for this to be included in CIR. Since there were so many negative voices and it was becoming controversial. I'll still fight for CIR/Dream Act to pass of course, but at least now I have this option too if i were to get married (now to find a wife! lol)

It'll take some time for USCIS to establish a procedure, hopefully sooner than later. Obama did say he ordered federal agencies to 'fix things' when it comes to this, but it'll take some time.

At least, it seems couples won't be subject to deportation or anything like that. :)

That's not necessarily true, all states don't allow same sex marriage and some of them that do have residency requirements..I for one am established in my state of Pa.my partner and I had a marriage ceremony in pa in 2010,but it doesn't count for anything,so now we have to go to DE. To be legally married..
