I hope no one here sees Deal 2 as a serious deal.

I don’t see the “radical left” involved in destroying any deal in either of these instances. All destroyed thanks to the evil Republicans.

Where were you in January-February 2018? Deal 1 just needed the green light from Trump, and Bitch McConnell would direct the Republicans to vote for it. Senate Republicans were literally saying that they would just need the green light from Trump. This is why I never take people's "informed opinions" on here seriously, they don't keep up with things anymore.

After 2 decades, it might just happen...

very unlikely it will happen. Republicans will filibuster anything in the senate relating to immigration. Guys like Rubio, Cruz, Cotton will make sure nothing passes since they will be running for President and want to appease Trump's hard right base.

Best case for us is executive action. Someone posted how we could fall into TPS due to covid and that would put is on a path towards legal status. I don't know how viable that would be since getting TPS is based on national disasters, pandemics in your home country not while you are in the USA as an illegal. I think Biden will reinstate DACA and maybe give us 3 years instead of 2 and bring back AP.

But then Paxton or some other Republican state AG will sue and SC may end up striking it down now that they have Amy Covid Barrett. DACA was saved because of Roberts and Barret will be the swing vote that kills it if Biden reinstates it. We can only hope that Dems win the both Georgia senate races or they win back the senate in 2022 but odds are even if they win back the senate they may end up losing the house now that they only have a slim majority and with the new census states like NY, California may end up losing seats.

Immediate permanent legalization of all Dreamers + Border Security is the way to go.

NO to "Clean DACA".

And absolutely NO to anything that does not give immediate conditional permanent residency to Dreamers.

The republicans are doing this from their perspective. They are thinking “By the time Dems butcher if with amnesty, it will get us something decent...” They should put something fair and equitable from the get go to start negotiations in good faith.

Hey CUSenior, I apologize for the rude comment at the end of this post. It’s just that I get unbelievably angry at how close we were to legalization back in winter of 2017-18. I can’t describe how much I hate Stephen Miller and Bitch McConnell, it’s not even Trump that bothers me. He’s just a malleable idiot.

Republicans
In Good Faith

Pick one

Remember the last time they tried passing something in good faith?

Seriously bro? Trump lost and you’re still clinging on to republicans ideology

Calling for Dreamer Legalization + Border Security is not "republican ideology". You've got a false sense of security thinking that you'll be getting "Green cards" in first 100 days. None of that will be possible if "Clean DA" is pushed. Hopefully Joey is smarter than that and knows how to negotiate and keeps all the radical left House members away from negotiations.
