the only reason i would want to have been born here would be to receive financial aid for college.

Yeah, because having a social security number that allows us to drive and work legally doesn't compare to getting financial aid.

Be glad you're getting a chance at a legal status at all.

Yeah, that's actually what I'm wondering about. What if you already live in a state that doesn't count us for in-state already? Will that change then?

If the DA were to pass, we'd be residents. Out of state tuition wouldn't be an issue for us anymore.

Well you can't get financial aid but you can get loans and i remember reading something about if you get government loans, that the interest rate are tax exemp, so that should help. Plus for people who are planning to enlist in the military. When i talked to a recruiter they told me that they cover government loans upto 80grand. So that would be like financial aid in itself because you would not have to pay that. But then again thats for the people who are already wanted to enlist. So

Individual states have financial aid available, at least in Texas there is. Currently at UT Austin, I apply for financial aid every school year and although it is such a hassle and take lots of time to get through, I get the money from the state from partial rewards and State Grants for every semester to pay for Most of my Tuition and Fees. I DO have to take out loans for living cost that is building up my debt BUT in the end it is an investment that is worth taking.

I will jump at the chance to join the Air Force once DA is passed, to get money to pay back all those loans and get money to go to Dental School, and at the end have a job security working for the Air Force as a Dentist.

Would you just not get Federal financial aid? What about state grants like the Cal grants here in California? Btw, you might be able to apply for certain waviers like the BOW. Or am I wrong? Probably not though.

State grant works! The CAL is a loan where you will need an American Citizen co-signer, as long as you find someone that trust you, it works!
