You may qualify for U-visa. It is a visa for all crime victims as long as you can proved you were harmed and you help law cooperated with law enforcement.

As a African descent man in America I cringed a bit at his use of words in the title, but after thinking it over, I see nothing wrong.

On my 2nd day of school in Brooklyn, NY, I was assaulted by a gang of at least 6 black boys around my age(15). I never saw these people before. Why did they assault me? My nationality and a silly bet between lesser minds. I couldn't fight back because I was recovering from a dislocated patella. My knee was swollen at least 5x it size. I was made fun of by the rest of the school for my entire 3 years there, because I got my ass kicked for sitting alone having lunch. This wasn't the last time I was assaulted while living in Brooklyn.

I had a gun pulled on me while waiting for my order at KFC. Anybody ever tried to rob you while you were broke? Trust me, it's not a good feeling when you're being robbed while looking down a gun barrel with nothing to offer.

One of my friends who was with me that night, was gunned down a year later while getting something to eat after a party. The guys in front of the bodega were heckling him and he turned the other cheek, and while walking back to his car, received a bullet to the back of his head.

And to all you people telling OP to go to a gym and build some muscles, be quiet! What is this world coming to when you have to look like Hulk so you can walk to the grocery without getting assaulted? Ridiculous! OP is undocumented like the rest of us. Why should he have to spend what little money he has to warn off thugs?

On a side note, I had a classmate in college tell the class that if a woman dresses provocatively, she doesn't have a case if she gets assaulted. My reply to this idiot was, "a woman should be allowed to walk the streets completely naked, without being treated like a piece of meat." The entire class went quiet. The only people who agreed with me were the girls who dressed provocatively, my very feminist female friend, and the professor who was level-headed.

My point is, we don't live in the wilderness. We shouldn't have to deal with the ideology of "only the (physically) strong survive."

OP, you need to do as I did; get the **** out of that place asap. Not only for your physical well-being, but also for the wealth of culture you will experience away from that place. These neighbourhoods and people are built to keep people down.

Well said, but probably not that easy to leave I presume. To The OP please don't hold this against the black race. Its a minority which I'm afraid casts a bad light on the majority. Hope you get better.
