Re: DACA to AOS

For anyone who applied, did you guys apply for EAD and advance parole? I don't see myself traveling outside till I get a green card. Also, my daca has been recently renewed. Can I just submit I-485, I-130, I-131, I-864?

I did because both are free when applying for AOS, so why not? It isn't a requirement though. EAD approval through AOS is taking ~11 months on average meaning some people receive their green card before their EAD is approved.

I didn't apply for advance parole because just like you I didn't see myself traveling until I got my green card.

Also my whole AOS process took 49 days, and that's with a RFE for medicals which I didn't send with my initial application. A lot of people are getting their interviews waived and reused biometrics.

If you have DACA and your case is fairly simple you might get lucky too and be approved super fast.

I forgot to mention, definitely apply for EAD since it's free, I heard soon they're going to raise the prices and EAD won't be included for free anymore.

Wow 49 days! I wish that is how long mine will be if not sooner! Just waiting for my medical the. I'm gonna submit everything. I guess I'll apply for the EAD. It's not bad to have 2, I guess. Although I think the EAD for AOS will be only last for a year?

Got an alert for initial RFE for more proof of Affidavit of Support and for my medical exam! I'm glad to see some movement even though a visa isn't available for me yet.

I think I now have enough work credits that I don't need a sponsor. I just need to figure out how to go about that.

Just EAD. I did not qualify for AP. I was not going to travel outside of USA anyway (too much risk). I never had DACA tho.

I was paroled into the US in June 2023. I finally got my legal entry and today my lawyer sent my I-485 package along with my I-212 waiver. I don't know if the I-212 will be approved but it's worth a shot while I wait for my removal proceedings to be closed.

Anyone submitting their medical along with their AOS application rather then waiting for an RFE or for the interview?

I submitted mine with all my documents. Still under review, waiting for results.

For those of you that did it themselves and submitted everything at once ( including medical). Did you send everything thru mail or partially online? ( i-130)
