Well I have never been a begger and I won’t start now. I asked and obviously they heard the question so it’s entirely up to them if they respond or not. Meanwhile my life is on pause. I’ve always been ambitious and have always had plans to be wealthy and successful. I fully intend to make good on that. I sometimes wonder how successful I would have been by now had I had my citizenship back in High school. I did so well in college that I was going to be hired by a leading Ad agency right out of senior year. I could have been a successful creative director by now! I am almost 30! How long must I be expected to wait to begin my life? Well I am not waiting forever. If nothing happens by March 5th. I will begin the slow, expensive process of applying to Canada, New Zealand or Australia. I will also be moving as My current address is listed on my DACA renewals. I have a small side business in addition to my 9-5. It’s something I can quickly start up in any location in the US. Find something similar so that if you need to go underground you will have a source of legal income. We have SSNs now so it be a little easier finding work. Best to start a small business in name only at least, set up a bank account. Do what you can while you are still legally present. And most importantly hope for the best if nothing passes by March 5th. It doesn’t mean its the end of all efforts to pass the DREAM act. Despite all my planning for worst case, I am hopeful for a best case! It will pass. We will get our green cards and we will all be ok. I am planning a group trip to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Who’s with me?!!

Kinda upset. Whenever the Congress gets close to passing a bill somehow it's always short. It would have been nice if the bill that provides a legal citizenship to Dreamers and 25 billion to the Wall. That should have passed. I think it's a win win. Dreamers gets a to become a USC and the cheeto man gets his wall. Sadly it was short 6 votes.

Since Dems gave up on the shutdown, I knew nothing would work out as far as bills.
But my very first thought was “Politicians are a bunch of pieces of shit”

I wasn't surprised. I didn't get my hopes up... with my filing of two years, i'm working on a back up plan. My parents added us to a AB something where we don't have to leave the country if you get married to a us citizen. My brother got residency in 2-3 months after he got married.

I was mad, but not surprised. I'm hopeful that my SO's work permit will be renewed (I don't have DACA), so he can keep working for the next two years. I'm just hoping that I can get my unlawful presence waiver approved before the end of the year, we can get married and then petition for him and just play it by ear from then on. I think he can apply for a work permit while his application is pending, but I'm not too sure about that, so having this plan, as weak as it is, made me feel better.

But the next day I almost had a nervous breakdown. My best friend (an American married to a guy from a country near the Caucasus) sent me a picture of her husband at the ceremony where he got his citizenship. She knows how much we are struggling with all this and it was so incredibly insensitive of her that I couldn't help it and broke down. Thankfully my mom called me that same day and pretty much calmed me down saying that things look really bleak right now, but we have to have faith because something good will come out of this.

If everything goes tits up we are either separating and finding people to marry or are turning all our money into travelers checks and gtfo of here.

Have faith. God will not abandon us. He knows our struggle.
