Hey all,

When they renew your EAD before your current one is up, do they start the 2 years from the date they approved the second one, or from the date your first one expires?

That's the confusing part. Since you already sent your renewal, you can't enter the old case #. But then again you already have your new address filled in on the renewal form. So when you think about it.. there's not really any address change necessary on your renewal.

Man, you have plenty of time before you need to start really freaking out!

Click here to fill out the Ombudsman request. I suggest you scan copies of your DACA renewal packet to send to the Ombudsman as evidence. Include I-797C receipts and your biometrics appointment letter complete with the signature.

At the same time, contact your local congressman/woman's office and ask them for help. They're supposed to provide assistance to constituents regarding issues with federal organizations.

It looks like some of you guys got change of address notice due to you moved after you got EAD and didn't notice USCIS. I also moved but didn't get any notice yet. Do you guys suggest me to change my address through USCIS website before they give me the notice?

Fill out the online address change form now and I suppose it won't hurt.

Let this be a lesson to you all: if you're moving, you need to notify them BEFORE you fill in any applications. I filed the AR-11 (notice to change address) right before I applied for renewal, and that message hasn't shown up.

Granted, USCIS did send a reminder letter to my old address, but anything to do with my current renewal case has been sent to the new address with no problems.

"08/20/2014: Ongoing I-765 (EAD) Application Processing Backlog and Service Centers' Expedite Relief

As we reported lately, I-765 (EAD) applicants have been experiencing delays with adjudication of the applications. Today, the Nebraska Service Center advises that the Service Centers will allow those experiencing delays beyond 75 days to seek expedite as follows:
NSC normally receives 20,000 I-765 applications per month. There was an increase in I-765 receipts for the months of April, May & June. July receipts (21,000) were closer to our monthly average. This "bubble" of receipts has caused a slight backlog. NSC should be current within a few weeks.
However, if you have an I-765 that has been pending for more than 75 days, please follow these steps to submit an expedite request (no documentation required):
Step 1: Contact the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283. The NCSC can assist customers, community-based organizations and liaison groups with case related inquiries and expedites. Before calling the NCSC please have available your receipt number, alien registration number, type of application filed and date filed. We recommend that you take note of the service request referral number.
Step 2: If more than 15 days have passed since you contacted the NCSC and the issue has not been resolved or explained you can email the proper USCIS Service Center to check the status of your case.
" California Service Center: [email protected]
" Vermont Service Center: [email protected]
" Nebraska Service Center: [email protected]
" Texas Service Center: [email protected]
Please note: Emails should be sent to the Service Center that has jurisdiction over your case. The receipt notice will indicate EAC for the Vermont Service Center, SRC for the Texas Service Center, LIN for the Nebraska Service Center, and WAC for the California Service Center. When contacting the Service Centers by email you will need to provide the information outlined in Step 1, including the service request referral number.
It is very important that you follow the foregoing instructions carefully and do not contact the agency when your application took less than 75 days."
