I'll most likely stay here until the end. My entire family is here and I couldn't bear to live far away from them.

I emailed my recruiters and explained everything. I am hopeful. Maybe they can sponsor me.

you must believe a lot in your recruiters to explain what is going on.

Go back to the Farm in Jalisco and raise goats :D

I just have an AA in Computer Science and a couple of certifications, Canada might be difficult with just that.

My employer does e-verify. So maybe I should jump ship or become a contractor.

I do, and if they do not help, I'll know how valued I am and where I stand. I have many companies who wanted me but I chose them. I can easily switch. They already responded though, and are looking into the situation and possible next steps.

:| I have heard different information. So I will definitely have to consult with a lawyer. I heard some cleared their EWI with AP, which I was planning on doing next year, just in case I was not qualified for the waiver :( , guess that's out the window now.

I personally know 2 ppl that had to leave to Mexico, one came back in within days, the other one took about 8 months! So it might be a case by case basis.

I have 2 USC children, but from what I heard, even that wont help me qualify for the waiver since their father is fully supported by them, it must be an extreme hardship, whatever that means.

Best of luck to us, but I would consult a lawyer since we're EWI, might get costly but every penny is worth our freedom here.

there's a few options if congress fails.
though i am really curious to see if our beautiful country goes after other minorities the same way they have put a magnifying glass on us, yet somehow marginalizing our people at the same time, for the past 30 years.

I am really nearing the point where I don't see the worth in all this if things don't come around. If America doesn't appreciate and welcome our contributions, why keep on begging them to see us as equals...as Americans? It'd ultimately be their own loss as there won't be another bright and young group of people like us who want to see America thrive.

Besides, nobody in their right mind would want to be an American when the country is literally in debt up to their neck ($20+ trillion). There are countries in far better positions financially and future prospects.

Yeah I'm going to consult a few lawyers too and see what they say. I know a couple where the husband had to stay for a year, well as of now a year, who knows they might make him stay longer.
