When do we update our ss card from type 2 to 1? After we get our new EAD or our Green Card?
TIA

Great question. I believe after you get your 10 year permanent card. However, I would still try with conditional residency to see if it is possible or call SSA for more information. They still recommend updating their records to reflect the change across anything that may use your SSN. This site was quite helpful concerning the change. According to this forum, it does appear you gain an unrestricted social security number with conditional residency.

I guess so, but if you read page 2 the note says

It took about 2 weeks for my receipts.

It took about 3 weeks for me. My attorney's office was notified first and they let me know. About a week later I received all the receipts in the mail.

Got my receipts. They all start with MSC. Anyone had MSC before, if so what was the timeline?

MSC processed me in 5 months. Very quickly considering I live in CA I think.

MSC only processes the EAD/AP applications for AOS and does an initial review of your I-485.

We have noticed that there is some confusion out there about what our National Benefits Center (NBC) is and what it does. The NBC serves a unique role within our organization as part of the Field Operations Directorate. The NBC was founded in 2001 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri and was originally called the Missouri Service Center (which is why receipt notices from the NBC will begin with the letters “MSC”).

The NBC’s primary mission is to prepare applications for adjudication that require an interview at a USCIS Field Office. A lot goes into preparing an application including conducting background and security checks and reviewing the evidence an applicant submits to support their eligibility for the benefit.
Once the initial review is complete, your case status will update to 'Case Ready to be Scheduled'. It then depends on the workload of your field office to actually get the interview scheduled.
