The Zombie Apocalypse
It's not if it will happen, but when it happens... Are you prepared for it? Do you know the location of your nearest gun shop and important things like that? What are you gonna do when the break out begins?
Share your ideas and perhaps we will make through it.... |

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse
This sounds fun I'll play along :-P
Well my husband owns a few guns/riffles already and we know where the nearest gun shop is so I think we're covered in that area. I would probably want to camp in a grocery store or a Walmart/Target after all you need food to survive and clean clothes LOL..... I think that's about it. |
Re: The Zombie Apocalypse
A shopping mall with steel reinforced gates that the zombies can't penetrate and a gun store inside, and the fewest number of entrances as possible. and most importantly... no windows which could be broken.

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse
You would need to satisfy all 4 categories.
For melee: I recommend something that can smash skull --> hammer or mace You can also get a cutting/stabbing weapon that is durable --> Machete For sidearm: I recommend medusa model 47 with a silencer (Nothing screams "handy" as this cool revolver that can fire all .355-.357 cartridge; 357mag, 38spec, 38 super, 9mm, 380 acp, ect. especially when ammos are scarce. For assault rifle: M16 with bayonette and TAC 15 crossbow attachment with a scope. (this Military crossbow attaches to your M16 and fires a deadly bolt that has an effective range of 175 yards!!! Not to mention that you can recover these bolts from zombies to use them again). But most importantly, be quick on your feet, be alert, and be calm & cautious. Train your cardio everyday. Also, try to wear a leather jacket & denim jeans as well as safety goggles or cool shades. |
Re: The Zombie Apocalypse
Also, please carry a copy of the zombie survival guide as your reference! Always be sneaky, try not to attract needless attention, and be quick on your feet.

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse
Here has been a flood of zombie movies in the last couple decades, a ton in the last 10 years or less. Perhaps lay off the zombie flicks and you will be fine. Drink some water, have a good think about it, and lay down your specific reasons why you believe there will be a zombie apocalypse.
Lots of people believe the world is going to "end", 2012 is just around the corner. To me all that means is the Mayan calender was cut off at that point because they were attacked and wiped out so no more dates following on their calender. Pretty tame right? Yeah! I have a good imagination as well but the zombie thing is just to cliche. Sorry if this is harsh, I am not meaning to be. By "preparations" what exactly do you mean? How do you prepare for a zombie apocalypse? Guns? Knives? Martial arts training? A bunker? Zombie mosquito spray development? etc..... I am preparing for a TROLL! apocalypse. :D Just kidding! Wait a minute...deteriorated...THE ZOMBIES ARE HERE!!!!!!! Source : The infinite knowledge that is my brain. : ) |

Then i would hit up the nearest gun shop, popping a few zombies in the head along the way, and load up on tons of Assault rifles and ammo; picking up a couple of hand guns and sniper rifles along the way (plus ammo). Then it is off to the woods/boonies to rough it out; hopefully running into a hot chick along the way that also enjoys camping out and would like to re-populate the earth for a later time. lol |

I have my contingency plan ready. Business as usual. Kill, kill, kill. The point is to kill until I get killed. 1. If you don't have it before then don't count on being able to get it after. It's one of the golden rules of survivalists. 2. Think before you act. Want to run down to the gun store and grab a shotgun? Will the zombies get you before you get there? Will the owner of the store be locked in and shoot you if you try to break in? 3. Not preparing ahead of time is like jumping into a river and then deciding you should have taken swimming lessons. 4. Trying to get to somewhere even less safe than were you are is stupid. Who in the right mind would go to some huge store or mall? Glass doors, impossible to defend by yourself. 5. Water is more important than food. Few people stock pile water. 6. Silence is golden. Noise attracts attention. 7. Don't expect a group leader to be smart just because he's the leader. Know when to walk away. Safety in numbers isn't always safe. 8. Wear protection that doesn't hamper your movements. For combat that means safety goggles. Blood and gore in your eyes might infect you. Towels wrapped around your arms can help keep you from getting bitten. 9.Swords are for movies. Even a hammer is a more sure thing. Don't be a Mall Ninja. 10. A bottle of vitamins will not keep you alive. You need calories. Of course there are many more but most people will have stopped reading after number 2. As you can see, I've thought a lot about this. Is it good enough? : ) |

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse
If you don't have the fire power and live in the suburbs you are pretty much fucked in every possible way, you can avoid zombies but you cannot avoid looters. Thinking of heading to the attic? After they check your boiler for water and your pantry for food that's where they will check next. Thinking of heading to the country side? It's too late. Preparation in advance is the only way to make it. An underground shelter with proper sanitation, food/water caches, bug out locations, and good OPSEC are the key to survival

Anyway, I see that I'm not the only one who has read the zombie survival guide, which it's good cause we need to be ready for the outbreak. it's like I always say: Not preparing ahead of time is like jumping into a river and then deciding you should have taken swimming lessons. Words to live by, especially in this scenario. Remember: don't be a square, prepare! |

The initial outbreak might be tougher for cities but I would definitely choose stairs, steel doors, concrete, and warehouses as opposed to a wooden home frames, sheetrock walls, and convenience stores. |
