According to Jorge Ramos, we are now 2 votes shy to get this done.

But honestly, I know you guys are hoping, praying, but honestly...tomorrow at 11 am EST, do you guys think it will pass!?

In my heart, I believe it will, but for some reason my head tells me it wont. I'm not trying to be negative but something just tells me it wont.

What are your guys' thoughts about tomorrow!?

Hope should be the last to die, but I feel it's not going to pass. No amount of pressure and sympathy can defrost the cold tactical hearts of some of these politicians.

my thoughts are that it won't pass but I think that just maybe we might get the 60 votes with tons of luck

My heart wants to say yes, my mind? I'm getting these little images in my head of people who supported DREAM before saying 'secure are barders.' Or something along the lines of 'day done it as a political ploy for hispanic votars.'

I'll be the one laughing decades from now, when these racists won't be able to muster Hispanic votes.

I feel about the same way I felt when the house voted. Hopefully that is a good sign.


If it passes what will happen to us over the years? I joined this forum this year but lurked for years well before it. If we can't get 60 votes for cloture then I expect our community to shrink anyways.

Something out there is listening. If tomorrow isn't our day, I know one day it will come. We will all get through this together. But I think your right, praying, hoping, watching and calling is all we can do as we watch out future in the hands of the senate.

Whether it passes or fails tomorrow, it is really sad to think that the positions of a mere few Senators can decide the lives of thousands of people.

Yes... it probably will fail.
But we still have light hopes.

Great responses guys. I have lurking on this website for quiet sometime now. I read, read and read different threads and its obvious we are all obviously quiet similar. We dream and we hope.

That's what we all have, the rest is just on hold...for now. And one day those dreams and that hope will come to good use. We will actually be able to do what we want and we will accomplish those dreams. We will hopefully stand side by side and show this great country how much we can contribute to society and how much we can help this country for the better. God bless all of you and god bless the US!

Tomorrow will be definitely a day full of tears, good or bad. But no matter what happens, just know that we are NOT alone. There's god, family, and those other students out there dreaming and hoping!

I was raised to think that If I fell down in life that I always had stand up and keep going even if I fell again. No matter how much it hurt, stand up and keep going and give it your all.

I can tell you that this situation we have does not take the smile off my face day after day. Sometimes it makes me think and frown...but everyday I can tell you I have had a sincere smile on my face and/or laughed. Why? Because we cant live our lives without happiness its one thing we all have in us.

Point is, be patient, hope, dream, laugh, cry, whatever! We may not be as fortunate as others to have a life like theirs but we are fortunate to breath air. Just take this whole experience as a test! The test may be 10 years old...but it has been put in front of us for a reason, and we have no choice but to be patient and to wait for this test to pass away from our lives.

Hearing that we've got 58 votes makes me wish the Dems hadn't lost their seats in Illinois and Massachusetts this year. Regardless of what happens tomorrow, I am going to get in touch with my lawyer.

Just be checking from 10-11 AM PST. On my scheduled programming it says that in the channel Univision the vote is at 11 AM PST.

The vote will be at 7:30am for all of us on the West Coast.

To be honest, I don't know what will happen but we sure need a miracle to save our selves.

When I watched the news today everyone said it would fail so that ads to my "its not going to pass" thought.

In all honesty I think most of us are extremely nervous at this point, but to come on and just be negative about it just seriously brings down some of the forum members' morale. We need to be optimistic and keep putting pressure on these senators.

Honestly, I'm glad that we've even gotten this far. Yeah, the vote will be tough tomorrow, and yeah, it's nerve-wracking. Think about it this way, the Dream Act has passed the House, it's in the Senate. It's being voted on, and good or bad it has been brought up.

The alternative to that would have been to sit here, with nothing to be hopeful about, watching as the clock on the 111th Congress ran out and the Dream Act died. Bills that aren't enacted do not carry over to the next Congress, so we'd have been back to Step 1 with nothing to show from our efforts.

So yeah, glass half-full :)

Dang it just got off work, and I'm so nervous about the voting tomorrow, my heart says that it will pass and my body says go to sleep. BTW I'm going to pray tonight, Goodnight everybody and I'm hoping for the best.

I am like 50-50 on this.

I have a feeling that some senators might surprise us as a Christimas gift but at the same time, seeing how we don't have secure 60 votes, I also have a feeling it might fail miserably.

We will find out in several hours from now.

I am prepared to accept the result of tomorrow's vote, but I am still not prepared to watch the voting itself. I've already started biting my fingernails, and I don't think I'll have enough left to bite during tomorrow's vote. :razz: To keep my sanity, it's probably best that I not watch the vote tomorrow.
