October Applicants

Hi everyone I thought I'd make a thread for us october applicants.

I finally got all my paperwork and mailed out my packet on saturday morning in New Jersey. I sent it priority mail expected delivery 10/2/2012 to chicago lockbox.

Its funny I was so worried about the what ifs but as soon as I mailed it out, it felt soooo right and I'm happy I did it.

Good luck everyone!!!

I hope to be an October applicant. I'm still waiting on my bank statements.

One more thing. I'm gonna move by the end of October. Should I wait to send mine in after I move, or is the address update system reliable???

You can always notify USCIS that you moved and they can update your address. There is a link on their home page on how to do that.

But is it reliable, is what I'm asking?? I don't want them to deliver the paperwork to the wrong address.

Re: October Applicants

I think it is reliable. and at the end of the day its better to have you packet out and processing than waiting. I'm actually going to be moving soon so I'll notify Uscis and make sure I do an address change with the post office. If it is sent to your old address it will be returned to the post office. So if you're going to be in the same general area that shares one post office you can periodically check with them to see if any mail was returned for you.

If you're still worried I would call the Uscis hotline and find out if there is a way to confirm they have received your address change or make an appointment to speak with someone at the office. I actually was able to make an appointment online and the process was quick, easy and they gave me a choice of times and dates.

Re: October Applicants

Just checked the post office and my packet was delivered today at 2:26pm 1 day earlier than expected. woo hoo!! I wonder if it will get redirected to another office.

Now I'm patiently waiting for my g-1145 confirmation.

Great! You would think getting your information would be an easy thing. I called tmobile to get past bills or even a letter stating how long I've been with them and they told me they could only send me 1 bill for free and every other bill would be $5 each. Jerks, I've been with them for 11 years!!

I'm glad you'll get yours out soon though. It seems like a lot of people are getting pretty quick processing. Hope we get the same thing and everything goes smoothly. :D

Re: October Applicants

I'll be an October applicant as well.

I closed a joint account, my ex-wife was on, back in 2009. Last month, I provided the account number of the closed account. Records from 2007 through 2009 are nowhere to be found. I went to a few nearby branches and spoke to various people over the phone. I'll be driving an hour this Wednesday to the branch I closed the account in. It's my last shot, and I'm hoping they have something in paper that perhaps other branches don't have access to. It's really the best proof of continued residence that I have other than pay stubs. And I was recommended to send any proof other than pay stubs by my lawyer.

Did your lawyer tell you why not to send paystubs. I know for me I was initially concerned about send paystubs and w2s because I made a decent amount of money. I wasn't balling but I wasn't struggling either. If you think about it though unless you dont' have direct deposit your bank statements will show your pay checks or the total amount deposited that month if you choose to only send the first couple of pages.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this but reading all your post makes me hopeful. I'm planning on sending mine out this week. I was just wondering, I'm just filing form I-765/I-765ws, do I need to send out any evidence that I've been continuously living here? Or do I just send out those forms only? Because in the Lock Box page, it stated not to send any supporting evidence so, I'm not too sure about that part. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Oh boy. I hope you're just joking.

You need to do a bit more of a reading.
I mean a lot.

Why are you waiting for your bank statements? I logged in my account and printed them straight from their website. All statements are saved in my account. Maybe yours too, if you can't login contact the bank to set you up with a username and password and life will be a lot easier.

Trust me, I've been reading a whole lot. My uncle whose done this before for his wife and is really familiar with the whole USCIS process..and he told me I didnt need the form I-821D since I came here legally but my I-94 has expired. So, I was just asking if I needed any other forms or proof along with my I-765 form. I did consider just sending out I-821D just to be sure.

I'm sorry but I'm not getting what your saying.

I also came here "legally" and I-94 expired.
Which is considered illegal: Overstaying.

You need to fill out I-821D, 765 and 765WS along with all the proofs, check and everything. That's what everyone else is doing and so did I.

Yea, thats what I was just wondering, if I needed to file I-821D as well along with I-765/ws. And one other question, I can send all my supporting documents to a Lock Box, right? For me, it would be in Phoenix.

I-821D must be filed... no way around that...

Yes of course. That's why I said you need to do more reading if you are in a state of asking this kind of question.

Please refer to all the stickies on this forum. And the link I gave you before USCIS website link (it has everything you need to know).

Basically, you need those three forms, proofs, $465 check, 2 passport photos and etc.
And yes, every forms and documents have to be in one form of document.
ONE MAIL, not separate and not multiple mails.

Refer to filing guides, checklists and all sort of goodness.

Re: October Applicants

Simplydivine If you are apply for DACA you MUST fill out I-821d along with I-765/Ws. Make sure that YOU read all the requirements for it and dont' take your uncles word for it. The fact that he would tell you you dont' have to fill out the I-821 d is just plain wrong.

For the I-765 you need to send in 2 passport pictures which you will lightly print your full name on on the back of each picture. A lot of people including myself are attaching 4 pictures to go along with the proof of identity portion of the I-821d submitted with birth certificate.

hooney 10-02-2012 12:30 PM

Re: October Applicants

I was just so surprised to see someone asking if one should file I-821D.
That's what this is all about, the form I-821D. To get a deferred action.
Not sure what "experience" your Uncle had for USCIS but he's definitely wrong.

And please do the readings I gave you.
You said you did "whole lot" of reading but missed the important ones, the ones you SHOULD be reading.

I'm just nervous and concerning FOR you, that's all.

Thank you, but I think my uncle said I didn't need the I-821D is because he probably thinks I'm filing for a spouse petition, thats why he didn't think I need it. I would like to work first since (from reading all the DACA approvals), it seems like a faster process.

And also, I already have my passport renewaled, can I send in that one plus the old one? Or just the new one? Here's what I'm planning on sending out as a proof that I've been living here consecutively:

All old elementary transcripts/awards with dates & addresses
HS diploma
Bank statement
English translated birth certificate
ID's

Is there any thing else I should add that I'm missing?

Oh boy. For starter, send the valid passport, and the passport with your visa and arrival stamp on it to prove the date you entered the country.

Also send ALL relevant documentation you have. Don't leave nothing to chance, or you might get RFE'd (that's REQUEST FOR more EVIDENCE).

Read, read, read all the instructions again and again.
