Re: Are you still voting for mitt romney?
Why would any DREAMer (if they were able to vote) vote for Romney if they wanted the DREAM Act to pass?
|
Re: Are you still voting for mitt romney?
No...we're not allowed to vote.

Re: Are you still voting for mitt romney?
Romney scares me. But he is only one person. What is really scary is the people that buy into his garbage. Especially, Dreamers who have faith in him...
I mean, really? |
Re: Are you still voting for mitt romney?
Anyone on this forum who could vote and voted for Romney wasted their vote on someone without principles. In fact, as people who have been targets of hateful legislation anyone advocating a republican is foolish.

I'd rather die.
I don't know how this clown thinks he can get immigratiom reform done in the first two years of his hypothetical presidential term. George W. Bush was way more influential than Romney, yet even Bush could not convince the xenophobic diaper-wearing old fucks in congress. |
Re: Are you still voting for mitt romney?
I am a dreamer, but sorry to burst your bubble guys, but mark my words when I say this, if Obama gets reelected he will never pass the Dream Act and he will never pass immigration reform. *The Democrats have always played this game with us (Hispanic, illegal or not) they jingle this little dream of ours called 'Dream Act' and 'Immigration Reform' on a fishing hook, so we can just gaze up with hunger and try to launch ourselves to get hooked to the trap. *We are all BAIT to Obama and the Democratic party game, so they can get the Hispanic vote. *Why are people so blind? I used to be blind before and used to follow like a lemming. *Now, the vail has finally been removed and I see the truth. *They will never pass anything! *We are the most important piece to their chess game, once they pass the Dream Act or a reform they won't have anything else to hold on to us and we will be free to vote for either side.
I am a Dreamer full of dreams and aspirations, but I will take advantage of anything that the democrats may pass for us. *Once I fix my situation and I can register for a political party, I will register as a Republican. *Some Republicans may hate us, but they want to fix the problem, they have always said that they will have a solution towards immigration reform, but first things first, fix the leak and then fix the people within. *The reason why Obama has passed a couple of things for us Dreamers is because he needs the Hispanic vote once again. Why would anyone want a liar as a President anyways? *I am very well educated on political events and have notice the lies. *Plus, if he gets reelected we can kiss this country which we call home goodbye, it will get worse. *We no longer have freedom of speech and soon enough we wouldn't be able to say that we are Christians, but by the direction that Obama is taking this country, soon we will be a socialist country! *Do you all want that? *Think about it, and don't be a lemming! This is my opinion so, I hope that you all respect it, just like I respect yours. |

Yea Obama didn't keep his promise about immigration reform we all know that. He isn't amazing or anything but I have not heard so much flip flopping coming from him. Also I doubt if Romney gets elected he'll be able to pass any comprehensive immigration bill. This might sound a bit pessimistic but I doubt the D.A much less CIR will pass in the next four years no matter who the president is. It might be a very long wait and what we should really care about is us as dreamers standing up for ourselves and not expect anyone to do anything for us "just cause". Btw what do you mean we don't have freedom of speech? :/Not everyone is Christian though, I don't even go to church! I'm not against Republicans but Mitt Romney is not the best choice they could've made. |

Im glad you see the truth in the democratic party. Now if you could see the truth from the republican party. Honey, you popped from a bubble to only fall into another one. Please inform yourself more than wht you already think you have. Politics shouldnt be about religion okay. How do you think I feel when I tell people im a buddhist? Like a freak! And you think you have it bad as a christian? Please!! no one is trying to take your religion away. Trust me. Republicans dont care for the American people nor do they care for immigrants like you. If it werent for Obama borrowing imaginary money the American people would have starved after the huge lay off of employees due to the bankrupcy of major banks and corporations if he wouldnt have extended unemployment and made food stamps more available we would have seen the second great depression. When corporations layed off its employees they didnt care they had families, bills to pay, health issues, mortgages, they just simply didnt care and who helped those folk out? The goverment! The Obama administration. What people dont see is that the economy didnt collapse because of the money borrowed that kept the flow and stimulated the economy. Tell me, what has the republican party ever done for the people??? what this country needs is a balance and republicans have not co-operated and now its back firing them. |

So, no don't blame Obama for unaccomplished promises, he needs Congress to pass any Immigration Reform, and Republicans are blocking about 90% of his policies. He is a good humble man, that deserves a second term, period. I do not want "dishonest Mr Overseas accounts" in office. However putting all those facts aside, Republicans need to make peace with Latinos, and other minorities involved in this subject. So eighter way, I strongly believe that despite the fact that Republicans seem to "dislike" Hispanics, they eventually NEED to pass, and support immigration reform, because if they don't they can't win the White House without the Hispanic vote. P.S. I can't emphasize this enough: If you have relatives, who qualify for Citizenship, or to vote please, please encourage them to become Citizens, and register to vote; that way we can have more control of this government's legislation. |

Hi there, the Republican's solution to immigration is self-deportation...so you will probably be heading back to your home country before you adjust your status. Sure the Democrats have not fulfilled every promise regarding immigration, but the Republicans have been much worse. Not only do they not support the Democrats on immigration, but they don't even support their own party. Did you forget about Bush and his attempt to pass immigration reform. He had to drop that right quick because he did not have the support of his own party. If I were you I would seriously reconsider your alliances, because in the end, even though DACA is hardly a downpayment to the promises that were made, it is a payment and that is far more than the Republicans have given. |

Re: Are you still voting for mitt romney?
No, we are spilling political truths. There is no perfect party and to claim that the Dems have our best interest at heart would be false, but right now they are the party offering the best solutions for the cause.

Maybe you can be best buddies with Michelle Malkin. And also, Romney is a Mormon. Lol

Re: Are you still voting for mitt romney?
Romney's religion is relevant somehow? He's never come off as the sort to impose his religion on others. Mind you, both he and Obama are awful in all sorts of ways. Pretty secular all things said though.

Re: Are you still voting for mitt romney?
Obama has some understanding on what being an immigrant feels like. His mother married Lolo Soetoro and he took him and his mother to live in Indonesia. Obama attended a public school with Indonesian children, and he didn't even speak the language. His mother could not afford the private American schools that the children of American diplomats attended. So, he understands what it is to be an immigrant to some extent. Whether it was a political move or not, I am thankful it happened. He said it: "it was the right thing to do". A lot of Latinos are not voting Obama solely on the DACA order. A lot of Latinos don't even feel we deserve it, since they had to wait and come here by the rules, and believe we are getting rewarded for breaking the law. But a lot of them, even if they don't agree with DACA, are still voting Obama, because of many other reasons: women's rights, more affordable college, GLBT rights, etc.
Mostly everyone I know is voting Obama, and mind you, the few ones voting Romney are solely voting for him because Obama is half black (no joke). "Once social change begins, it can not be reversed. You can not un-educate the person that has learned to read. You can not humiliate the person who feels pride. You can not oppress the people who are not afraid anymore" -Cesar Chavez |
Re: Are you still voting for mitt romney?
I see we have some Romney/Republican lovers in the house!
Mind you not all Dreamers are Obama or Democrat lovers but at the same time we are nowhere near sharing similar views with a man who has non-stop been against us and at the same time tries to make it seem like he isn't. We are aware of what Obama and Democrats have been unable to do but we are also aware of what Romney, tea partyist who claim to be Republicans, and right wing extremist are unwilling to do in our favor and instead want to rip away the little chance we have been given because according to them we don't deserve it. They have gone on and on about all the reasons they believe we Dreamers don't deserve to be given an opportunity to fix our status in this country and it's just so entertaining to hear all of them. But in the end you know who has it worst than us???? The older undocumented folk it sickens me to think what they have to go through just for the simple fact that they made the fucking mistake of coming here illegaly or overstaying. They weren't educated here so most of them don't know they have rights in this country and some don't even understand English as well as we do. We have the ability to protect ourselves better than they do. And don't get me started on the whole anchor baby issue. I don't idolize Obama but I will never ever speak in favor of someone who is unwilling to give people like me a chance. Just look at how they feel/act towards the LGBT community and even women! That gives me a pretty clear idea that they are unable to support anyone who doesn't fit their definition of "normal". |

Re: Are you still voting for mitt romney?
Obama faced a recession that was going in the direction of a depression. I was practically born here but even I can understand he had to put US citizens before us. Beyond that he acknowledged that immigration reform was his biggest failure. That to me says a lot.
The republicans on the other hand have continuously diminished the expectations for the DREAM act. Anyone who thinks the republicans are looking after our best interest should realize we only needed 4 Fcking Republican votes in 2010 for us to have a chance. |

Whether u wanna be a Republican or Democrat is up to u and i dont rebuke u either way. However to say the Democrats only dangle CIR and DA in our faces and the Republicans only wanna fix the problem is arguably the asinine thing stated on this forum (probably) ever. The DA was filibustered by the Republicans 2 years ago or u would already be legal and working on ur dreams (whatever they are). The bill had 55 votes, but because of the Republican party it is not law. Im not devoted Democrat, however i would vote their way until the Republican party shifts their views back to the middle. The Republican party is no longer a bi-partisan minded party, it has become a "our way or no way" party. I personally don't think 4 more years of the Bush policy that turned our surplus into a deficit is what this country currently needs. I think u watch too much Fox News my friend. Do ur research...Obama isn't trying to do anything the "allmighty" Ronald Reagan didn't. Reagan raised taxes, Reagan passed an amnesty, hell even Reagan would be a "socialist" by ur definition. That is also something that the idiots at Fox News do all too well. Stop with the name calling and report facts. I refuse to support a party who's sole purpose is to slander the other party for their own political gains. I refuse to support a party who tells blatant lies, and when they get called out about it, their response is "we will not let our campaign be dictated by fact checkers." Really? Until the Republican party becomes a party for the people and not special interest groups they will never get my support. Again im no devoted Democrat, but the Democratic party is the lesser of the two evils. |
