A Website to Check Your Employment Eligibility - Self Check by USCIS

I'll be starting my new job next week and I was searching information about E-Verify and found this Self Check service by USCIS.
We can basically E-Verify ourselves before our employer does it.
After short information and questioneers, I was told that I'm eligible to work in the U.S.
If you are a curious person like me, try this Self Check.

I have been getting the same issue. Apparently they need a credit record to check for your identity. Sucks, but No Credit = No Selfcheck.

Have to wait for E-Verify

As mentioned before they use Equifax.Since Dreamers are practically new in the system it won't show up.

Oh I see, I had my SSN for about 7 years now and they generated a quiz for me.

Mods, please edit the title. I think it is misleading for a lot of people on this forum. Thanks.

New Title: A Website to Check Your Employment Eligibility - Self Check by USCIS (For People who has had SSN prior to DACA)

Yep, I think they can generate a quiz for you once you get a credit card and give them some time.

Just came back from a job interview today and they did on site E-Verify check. My photo that I took at USCIS came out right away.

Do you have any credit? How long have you had your SS#?

I've had my SS# (original not valid for work) for over a decade now. I went to SSA last week and just this week received a new card with "valid for work" etc (same number).

In regards to credit. I'm currently not aware of what my standings are.

Re: A Website to Check Your Employment Eligibility - Self Check by USCIS

Got my EAD today so I tried it and E-verify matched my info. So exciting! I've had an SS card (not valid for work) since I arrived here in '90 so I think that's why mine came through. I'll be applying for part-time jobs for the rest of the week.

Here's what it said:

Work Authorization Confirmed
tinachow,

Self Check compared the information you provided to U.S. government databases and can confirm that, based on the information you provided, you are eligible to work in the United States.

If you are hired today by an E-Verify participating employer and you use the same documents and information provided, you will most likely be instantly work authorized when your employer checks your information using E-Verify.

In the event that you are not instantly work authorized, please work with your employer to ensure that your information was entered correctly and, if necessary, follow the steps outlined by E-Verify to resolve any issues.

This does not mean that you are guaranteed to pass through E-Verify without issue. A number of things can happen between now and when a future employer checks your information using E-Verify that may cause you to get a mismatch. Those things include name changes, citizenship status changes, expiration of work authorization, or a simple data entry error when your employer is entering your information into E-Verify. It is important that you keep your records up to date with the government to ensure an accurate employment verification process.

Thank you for completing the Self Check process!

First time I have a SSN and just tried the Everify and it went through fine.. However, the first time I tried it, I put my SSN on the very first page (so they can generate a quiz) and it was unsuccessful. The second time I didn't list my SSN to generate the quiz, it's not required, and only typed when it was required and i was everified!

Yes, this happened to me too. Do not put your SSN on the first page or it might not work.

I have a job interview and I am wondering what will happen if mine doesn't clear on everify? I tried putting ssn and not puttong ssn and both doesnt work. Do I have to manually get it confirmed through uscis? I really hope I get this job and I would want to act on this proactively so there aren't any hiccups in the hiring process.

Mine worked with a new SS issued in September/October!

By the way, I updated my SSN at the bank and sent a letter with my information to all three credit bureaus. I received a reply from Equifax and Experian about 2-3 weeks after sending out the letter.

"Notices: The issue date of the Social Security number that you gave us when you contacted us is not verified by the Social Security Administration."

This was on my Personal Info from Experian. What do guys think it means?

I applied for a job online and was denied, I'm trying to see if they can tell me why, but I'm guessing its my social. I tried doing the self check and it doesn't work for me. Will give it a try without the social.

I just checked this, interestingly enough, it works with my fake ssn number but not with new one, I need to update the credit bureaus'.
