Social Security denied me a printout. What to do next?

I went to go apply to a local social security office in Corona,CA last Friday (11/9) . After waiting 2 hours the person there gave me a paper that says that " I have applied Nov.9..... card should be in mail about 2 weeks" I also asked the ss worker if I can come get a printout. She told me "Yes" and to wait 24-48 hours so I said ok.

Yesterday on tuesday I went to Anaheim Social Security office ( I was in that city for some business) and people in this forum told me it does not matter what office I go to get a printout. After waiting in line for almost 3 hours.. The person told me that they cannot give me a social security number printout because it's personal information. I had my EAD and Valid passport there but he still told me he could not give me the number.. What the fruck.. seriosly..

Is it possible to call the local offices and ask if they give printouts or check the status of my social security #? And can I make appointments with Social Security office to reduce my wait time? I really need to get a dmv permit sometime this or next week.. I will be very busy for the following weeks.. Thanks very much.

Not true. Many, including myself, went to different offices than where we applied to get a printout.

Please do not go from office to office aggravating the staff. Just WAIT for your social security card to arrive in the mail. My receipt said that it would take two weeks to process it, but I received my card within 7 days (weekend days included).

They told me the same but I received mines in 6 days. I never went back for a print out.

Aggravating the staff? What do you think they're there for? To sit around and look gorgeous? No, this is part of their jobs.

What? What do you mean exactly? Did receiving his card in 6 days prove that staff are being aggravated by people asking for printouts? o.0

Yep. Was pretty quick to receive the card. Applied on a Monday and received it Sat. But yea, I had no issues getting a print out. The dude was chill and it only took a minute for him to print it out for me.

No but the staff there was not well informed I think because 1) he told me I needed a ssn card to get a ssn printout.. (why the hell would I go to a social security office if I have my ssn card) and 2) he told me that the dmv does not accept the printout and you need the actual card (which is not true) what number do I need to call to get a status on my ssn? Thanks

It all depends on the individual employees not the office. My sister and I went to the same office, I was able to get my printout with no problem but when she went they wouldn't give it to her because of "security reason". She went back the same day to a different employee and got it with no issues, she went to the DMV the same day and got her license.

Yeah I think this might be the reason. Well I'm going to the ss office where I applied tomorrow to see if they give us one. Or I hope I get a ssn card by the end of this week.. have my dmv appointment next monday

I've been waiting for my social to arrive but its been 10 days and nothing so far. Was planning on going to see if I could get a printout. Do I have to call ahead first or can I just walk in?

I have to go drop off my application, but I live in Texas. Is the wait time seriously 3 hours..?
