Oregon Not giving Licenses?
Alright, I've been hearing that Oregon has stopped giving licenses to dreamers as of 12/19/12?
Is anyone from Oregon that can verify? Here is the article link : http://www.oregonlive.com/tigard/ind...cy_mark_d.html I currently have one but I want to get my Motorcycle endorsement and I just don't want t0 risk going in and them taking it away! I just need some one to confirm this first hand! And please state the date you went and the location of the dmv, |

Re: Oregon Not giving Licenses?
I'm hoping this isn't true..I've talked to my lawyer and they said they are giving them out though.

Re: Oregon Not giving Licenses?
that article is outdated. Currently there are 5 states (not 3 states) that are not allowing DL to DACA beneficiaries [Arizona, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, & Nebraska)

That article is NOT outdated at all did you even read it?
Last Updated December 21, 2012 at 5:04 PM Until the governor comes and makes an executive order, nothing is really certain |

Re: Oregon Not giving Licenses?
I would hold off until going there because they might take your DL/ID from a different state. Since by law, after 30 days of being here, you need to change your address and ID. I got mined from Washington but having an Oregon one would be nice

Re: Oregon Not giving Licenses?
I'm an oregonian too and I went to the dmv last week and had no problems. I previously had an Oregon license but it expired on my birthday on 2011. I went in and showed my ead and ssn card and that was that no questions asked expect if I still lived in the same address as before. I did had to retake the knowledge test since it had been over a year since my license expired and I'm going for my driving test next week.

Re: Oregon Not giving Licenses?
I did forget to mention that I also had to take the knowledge test. I was not expecting that since I already had a license, but since it was from another state I had to retake it. I was nervous at first because I had only read the Washington book and that was more than 2 years ago. But I still managed to pass.

Currently I don't know of any job openings, but I do plan on applying at Costco. They pay like $14 an hour to cashiers. If that doesn't work then I'll see where I apply. Currently I work in a pizza place, but I'm tired of working there by now. For the last 2 years I've gone to PCC where I got my associates degree in June. You don't have to give them a social and you can pay in-state tuition. A few months, before I got approved for DACA I went to PSU and talked to an admission advisor. I ended up filling a paper application and she gave me instate tuition because I graduated from an Oregon high school and I have lived in Oregon for the last 10 years. I will start classes next week. If you want her contact info let me know and I can PM you. What city do you live on? |
