Anyone that has taken the CA behind the wheel test.

I've been told that the car I take to the test has to be a full-covered car. Is this true? I intend on taking a liability insure car only.

No, it doesn't have to be full coverage. Liability insurance is the requirement in CA, it wouldn't make sense to require full coverage.

This is really good news. thank you! One more question though, can i use my mothers car (which has insurance) and take my friend? or does the car has to be from the same person with both car and insurance info?

You can take any car, doesn't matter who it belongs to, as long as it is registered and it has insurance.

My cousin took me and I used my dad's truck for the test.

im taking my test on friday at santa Monica!!

You DONT have to have full cover, only liability, i know this because my girlfriend took a liability car when she got her license.

As for me my uncle is taking me with my own car and my own insurance, he's just going because of the license, this is possible right??

do you have to take someone with you when you take the written test?

Re: Anyone that has taken the CA behind the wheel test.

No you take the written test yourself. Someone can go with you to the dmv but when you go into the testing room only you are allowed in.

Yes you can take your friend. I think the car has to be in their name. I just took mine yesterday and passed. It's a lot easier than what people say it is. I took it in Whittier.

yeah dude they have to be 18 or older. apart from that you need a registered car and insurance for the car you are going to drive.

Probably in a couple of months until I buy a car. Damn I didn't knew about this, I'm assuming is the same in other states. I need to check that out because I don't have friends with licenses and some of my uncles have them but I don't want any favors from them...

well the car DOESN'T have to be under your name. i've seen on different threads that someone took his cousin for the license, with his dad's car.

you can take anyone who is just willing to lend you their car. my girlfriend took my uncles car, insurance and license, no relantionship whatsoever.

Im in California so these rules apply here, idk about others but you should check the driver's manual of your state and it should have all the info that you need.

Yeah I know that I can take any car but I just want to buy one in my own so I don't have to keep borrowing one haha hopefully I'll be driving before college starts in August
