Same here. I'm sticking around making 11/hour until I get my bachelors degree or leave to do an internship. I applied at a few banks, and even interviewed at 2 different locations, but I didn't get the teller position.

I got a Mexican job at petsmart as dog bather which is intense for 8.5 an hour and part time. I live with my parents so whatevs as long as it gets me through school I am willing to tough it out. But with no experience @ age 25 I can't complain too much.

I work at a transportation/freight company as an account receivable clerk. I make 10/hr and I'm actually starting next week training to become a transportation broker which I believe I will start being paid salary once I start that. I'm very grateful for what DACA has done for me. VERY! Lol.

Work at a small CPA firm as a Staff Accountant. Now I realize not to take things and should not have taken anything for granted. It is TOUGH. It will bring you down to your knees if you don't appreciate and learn from the struggle. To the young dreamers still in college or freshly graduated and about to get a job in their field, keep this in mind. Respect yo profession and you will get respect back. Don't miss a day of work unless its a medical emergency. The only downside to my job is there is no health insurance but I've learnt my lesson I'm not complaining. I used to give a tough time to my parents when there were no papers crying and throwing tantrums about not being able to drive and get a job. Well now I have both and my struggle has actually doubled. Hoping it pays off in the near future. Until then will continue paying my dues. GL to all!

Project Manager at a construction firm. Amazing pay and benefits, but extremely stressful. I also expanded my own firm.

Product development Lab Tech in Food Company. Pay is ok, and there's benefits. The company I work for is great. It is busy, but not stressful.

Dayuuuum man. Way to go.

Personally, I recently got a job at Meijers (a store like Walmart) to work at their electronics department. Starting pay is $7.80 but I can't complain. There are pay raises every 300 hours (or something like that) and this is going to help me through school.

I'm also hoping to get a second job at UPS as a package handler (they're always hiring for that position here because I live near their big receiving center) because they have tuition reimbursement (up to a certain amt) for the university I'm going to attend.

I know people who work as package handler and express how tiring and tough the job is.

Hey man (?, want to say man but then i see a pink unicorn in ur avatar so idk not that i'm judging lol) to answer your question I got a BSEE back in May 11. It took me 3 months to land a job, I guess it really isn't that long but what helped me is that I know a lot of people so everyone was trying to help me out. I think the hardest part was that 2 year gap I had from the moment I graduated till the moment I got my job. But it is very doable man, the smaller that gap is the easier time you will have. I applied to lots of jobs and got about 10 interviews. During the interview process, every interviewer asked about the gap and a few even mentioned that I barely made it to the interview process because of that.

What is an application engineer?

I googled it, and was wondering...do you design things like Microsoft Word type programs? Do you design operating systems?

I'm planning on applying as a waiter for the Hard Rock Cafe here in Orlando at Universal. I heard the pay is good and the tips are even better (The waiter said that during touristy seasons like the summer, Halloween, Christmas, and Spring Break, making $100 in just tips in one night is a let down)!
I'll only be able to work there in the summers though, since I'll be at FIU in Miami for the Fall/Spring, but either way, it'll help a lot! Plus, if I get an on-campus job, it'll all just be spending money.

I don't do that but some people might.. I'm like an inside sales engineer, I'm the link between sales department, engineering, and project managers.

See below a description from the web.

Yes, very interesting. I like it. You gotta have the technical background but also a sales/business aptitude. I plan on getting an MBA next year so I think this will help me in that regard.

Re: What good jobs have you guys landed so far?

Is that even an engineer title seems like a technical job. It's like if I tell you I am an application doctor and say that I just handle sales and some medicine. But it's a doctor's job. Anyway interesting job seems like it's fun

It is engineering.. The reason it is well paid is because some people have the technical background but lack the interpersonal skills, where as, some other people have the business aptitude but lack the technical background. There's a far less number of people who have both traits. You know that stereotype about engineers being introverts! Well in most cases is very true. Having said that, i have the title but i don't get paid like one. I'm at least $20k less than what I should be getting.
