How do you feel about the kids crossing the border
 

I kind of hate that their are tons of kids flooding the borders because coyotes are lying to the parents telling them that they will get free citizenship.

It's not just about coyotes lying. Much of what you are seeing is lagged effects of US foreign policy.

I know of two cases, they are my mom's acquaintances. Their kids arrived a couple of month's before the media started covering the border crisis. One person told my mom nonchalantly how it was a sure thing that their kids both 11 and 14 years old were going to cross the border even if they got caught by the border patrol and they were going to receive a permit to stay. These kids were not running away from poverty or crime as a matter of fact they were enrolled in private schools in Honduras living a comfortable life with the money their parents were sending them. My point is, the media keeps saying these kids are coming by themselves, when in reality parents are paying coyotes for that service. Their plan is "as long as we show up at the border we are getting papers/permits".
No doubt that some of them are really running away from hardships, but not all of them. They are coming with the wrong mentality, making it harder for us to obtain an immigration reform by giving politicians more reasons to not act on it.

Is it likely that the only reason the republicans voted on a bill to take aways Daca was because the flood of undocumented people?

Yes this really hurts us but i think obama is the one to blame on this one. I say send all those kids back to where they came from. I wouldn't mind if the younger kids would stay (ages 3-10) those are just kids. The the rest of them send them all back. We dont know if they are affiliated with gang members or if they have commited a vicious crime.

@Airforce. Yes that is the reason why they want to get rid of DACA and is not fair to us!!!!

Thank you! I never bought their sob story of daily killings blahblahblah and how these kids were so confused that they thought they had permisos here but somehow managed to give thousands of dollars to coyotes and cross several borders. They know what they're doing...and they're doing it on our backs.

DACE made it hard for some people (since USCIS had to make room for it thus increase waiting times) and was a key factor in holding down an immigration reform.

For whatever reason these kids are coming here, they are here already. Just like how we are here now.

I think they can survive being out of their home country for a month and haven't forgotten their language. I bet the guy at the sandwich shop on their street still remembers their name too so they'll be ok and they'll have a story to tell their neighbors about how they came to the US. Maybe they can lie and say they met movie stars and partied all the time to look cooler.

You keep trying to make it sound like we are all the same. It's just not true. Even if you make it the same, fine. Make them wait like I have. Give them false hope over and over again and then after 15 years maybe throw them a bone.

But we are ALL the same at the end of day, you think because you came here differently, it different, but its not. At the end of the day, if you are looking for a reform to change your status, you are all the same. Tell me - are you NOT hoping for a way for you to change your status? Are these kids or their parents NOT doing the same?

I suppose we're all human beings in this game of life together, but these kids and us are in direct competition right now and they are the ones who brought the fight to us. We're all on the Titanic and we've been waiting in line for a lifeboat and all of a sudden these kids crashed their boat into our already sinking ship and want to jump in the lifeboats.

As I keep saying , if the house wanted to pass something they would have done it a long time ago but they haven't. Anything that happens it's just another excuse. Suppose these kids weren't coming here. You don't know thinks what going over at the middle with isis or Isreal bombing Gaza or Russia making oil deals with Iran would impede the house from moving ?

The problem is that immigrants are the ones that keep giving them excuses. Last year was those assholes in Boston, the years before that was the illegals who shot cops, the years before that it was the immigrants flying Mexican flags at rallies, the years before that was the terrorist MFers, etc.

these were just small excuses to mask the real excuses to make them seem less big than what they seem.


Remember back in 2001? It wasn't small stuff like that but 9/11 that cause them to change their mind to not forward it.

It's a tough situation. Every time I try to make an argument for or against these kids staying here I feel conflicted. Just as a second thought, I wonder how the American people and media would be responding to the situation if these kids were white, say Polish or Russian?

I wish I had saved this but a while ago I was reading some Facebook post about this guy from Europe being here illegally. All if their white friends and random people were super supported of it. Telling how he should stay to see if an immigration reform.happens or maybe he can fix his status through marriage.

Imagine if these kids were Jews oh man house would have voted months ago
