NO biometric letters after a month and 10 days
 

Hey guys I wanted to create a thread specifically for my issue since I'm reading people timeline and they all got their biometrics letter. However in my case they receive my case on July 28 in Nebraska and got the receipt date on the 31st of July..till this day I haven't received my bio appt letter indicating when's my appointment. I also called customer service but they haven't done nothing. Is anybody else experiencing this huge delay????? My EAD is set to expired in Oct 25. Thanks for your input guys.

Hi,

I also have the same problem. My application was receive and I got the receipt on July 28 from Nebraska. I call USCIS and they told me it could take up to 6 months. I think thats just what the officers tell everyone who calls. My DACE is expires in November.

I hope we hear something soon.

Same as you two. They received my apps on July 28th and still nothing. My expiration day is Nov 9th.

They are not going by when you submitted but rather by expiration. They are barely on the first week of October expiration. Most likely you will hear from them in October or late September.

I think this thread is about the biometrics letters being late for us.
I have read on this forum that some people get the bio letters in 2-3 weeks.

I have also read on the December EAD Expirations Group thread that some of them have gotten the letters in the mail for the biometrics.

I do hope we get the letter late September...

Mine doesn't expire until January and I already did my biometrics... I got my biometrics letter one week after receiving my receipts.

January expiration date here... got my letter last week for an appointment next week.

I was referring to my Bio appointment. I know the approval takes longer and you don't get a decision right away. Looks like most people are getting their appointment within a week or 2 of submitting. I know on my initial approval I received it within a week.

This really sucks. Funny thing is that people who sent it around late august got their appointment letter. I don't understand is it really based on expiration date smfh

Yeah usually its within 2 weeks after receiving notice receipt. I don't know what's the problem Herr but surely made me pissed off. Trynna get over this and just move on you know smfh

Same for my brother. He sent his stuff in late July and still no Bio letter....I hope this doesnt become one of those 1 year waiting clubs :(

I'm going through the same thing. Sent my renewal first week of July, mine expires Oct 13 :(

Same thing happened to me.

I called USCIS customer service and the mailed me the original letter that they claimed they sent 2 weeks after i received receipt. This is BS cuz I didn't get anything. Now I missed my app and I have to schedule an infopass appointment that is like 200 miles away (the closest one). My EAD expires 10/29 and I think ima be illegal for a couple of months again :(

Wow, I wonder if theres something that they could grant to help us out? I heard that If we filed 120 days in advance they could extend the card or something like that.

They weren't able to determine if my bio letter was sent idk if they can view that on the system . I think your representative was just giving you an estimate but I spoke to 2 customer services and they told me it doesn't show in the system if they mailed you the bio leyter or not.

Here's my update when i called a couple of weeks ago I was told that in their system the appointment was not shown as having been sent. So the rep files an E-request. I received an email and this is what it said...

..."Type of service requested:
-- Non-Delivery of Other Notice


The status of this service request is:

You or your representative contacted USCIS to notify us that you have not received a document or notice that our electronic systems show was sent to you. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

Thank you for contacting our office about your case. According to our research you have not yet been scheduled for biometrics. If you require biometrics the officer reviewing the case will ensure you are scheduled and notified.

We hope this information is helpful to you."

That was all. I was told to call after 75 days have passed from from the receipt date and I can inquire again as to the status of the EAD App. Till hten nothing I can do.

Bio metrics appointment take a while depending where you live and the current volume at hand.
I submitted my July 30th and had my Bio August 20th, My DACA doesn't expire till November 28th.

Strange enough when I submitted my i 485- the bio metrics appointment took 6 weeks. Same center.

I did service request as well. I got the mail today saying similar things.

"The status of this service request is:

Recently, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your form i-821D/i-765 to notify us that you have not received your biometrics appointment notice. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

We have forwarded your concerns to the supervisor for review. You should receive a biometric appointment notice or other correspondence within 60 days of the date of this letter."

That's it. Hopefully the don't take that long because originally they said a month. Then wait 2 months for a appointment they can't take that long.

Just an update guys. After filing service request for not receiving my biometrics appointment after 1 month and 20 days, Ive finally received it today for October 8th. However, imma do a walk in. Hope they don't send me back home for doing a walk in. Thanks everyone who also shared their delays.

So this isn't just happening just to me. I sent in my renewal app July 28 and still no bio letter. I called and got the same answer but just in case, I did request and should hear something by next month.

I was reading the application instructions and read the part about biometrics, it said something to the effect that they "may require biometrics be done" which is interesting BUT I haven't read of anybody getting renewed without getting their bios done again.

Hopefully we all hear something soon too.

We just made a service request as well. One month and 25 days after....should have done it sooner. Well may the odds be ever in our favor.

Update on my case: just got my Bio letter today scheduled for the 9th of Oct. so try to hang in there guys. Curious thing though on the Bio letter they listed only my Alien number, the Account number(im guessing its my EAD permit no.) and the Social number were blank. Just try to be patient and sit tight guys.

On a side note somewhat related, couple days ago I spoke with my HR guy and asked about my EAD expiring. He spoke with our headquarters in Texas and they said they didn't care cause I had a good Social and I showed them an ID. Even though they use Everify they said they were cool. They don't even care if I show them the new one. I was surprised since I work for a large corporation.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure that you have to fill out a new I-9.

That's exactly what I thought but HR guy was like "You have nothing to worry about". I thought it sounded sketchy too. Especially since I work for a large multinational corporation. I was like OK! heck I'm not gonna argue haha.

Can a company legally do that? I also work for multinational corporation and I'm scare that my EAD won't get approve on time. Mine will expire on January and HR hasn't say anything to me yet.

Got my letter, october 8th appointments. Also, new I-9 don't have to be filled out, only you have to give your updated documents. As a matter of fact as far as I know, the i-9 is never submitted to the Feds, it's only supposed to stay in the company's file in case of an audit. E-verify is voluntary and is completely separate from the i-9. Now, of course, each company has it's own rules as to what they do with this info, so I'm only going by what the feds usually do, not what each company decides their rules and procedures as to how to keep documents updated.

I finally got my Bio-Letter yesterday!!

I will do a walk in next Tusday...at the Santa Ana, CA. Office...

I got my biometric letter today in the mail! :-D and I also did a biometrics walk in today, my appointment wasn't till October 10, but I went ahead and tried to do a walk in and thank god they allowed me to do a walk in today! now I'm just waiting for there decision. :-) crossing fingers!

Got approved for i765 today. Card in production :). I'm actually 3 weeks early I thought I would get this so late. Thanks guys for sharing your story it made me feel I'm not alone:)!!! Best of luck to you all!!
