Super Tuesday!
Tomorrow will be the day that decides who will win the Republican Nomination, meaning that if McCain wins most delegates, Kiss Romney goodbye :) . McCain is leading in most states which is good news for all of us here. While in the Democratic side, Obama and Hillary are tied in most polls. I'm hoping for Obama to win. I was rooting for Hillary, but now I'm in the Obama bandwagon rooting for him to win. We need Change!!

Re: Super Tuesday!
woot woot i cant wait.. >_<
btw.. im worried about Romney here in Ca = / |
Re: Super Tuesday!
would super tuesday pretty much determines the nomination for both parties ?
|
Re: Super Tuesday!
not necessarily ^^ .. but it will most likely give us an idea as to who the party nominees will be...
unless theres not clear winner.. lets hope McCain takes home the Bacon.. on the Rep side.. and Obama takes it over at the Dem side.. |
Re: Super Tuesday!
I hope McCain will be able to beat either Obaba or Clinton. I feel that on the immigration side, all three are in our side in one form or another. What really makes me go for McCain is his point of view about economy.
When it comes to the war, well, there's nothing much to say. Remember that Rome was a great empire as long as it kept fighting wars. Once it stopped fighting, the whole thing collapsed. |
Re: Super Tuesday!
Juang, even my mother learns from her mistake. My mother was all for Bush, her reasoning, he is for immigrants and lower taxes. She is now for Obama or Clinton. She doesn't trust a republican and I'm with her on this. Even Bush and McCain are far less reliable than the Democrats because republicans have a racist/xenophobic block of their party they have to answer to once in a while. Look at DREAM and how Bush turned his back on us even though he stuck his neck out for the much more controversial CIR.

Apparently, the opposition believes that Ron Paul is leading 11 of the states and seemed to be pretty hyped about it. Maybe they are delusional?

Huck won WV. That is in fact a vote for McCian.

Re: Super Tuesday!
Hasnt mccain changed his position on the DREAM Act once he got some leverage for the Republican nomination? Let's face it, a Democrat president is much more likely to sign the DREAM Act into law than a Republican counterpart. Given the past failures of the Bush administration, I dont think any Republican could beat Obama or Hillary, except for Mccain, so that is why I want Huckabee or even Romney to win the nomination.
And for all you die hard Obama supporters, check this out - http://www.antichrist.net/barack_obama_antichrist.html I guess Obama is destined to win lol. Let's just hope hes not the antichrist. |
Re: Super Tuesday!

Re: Super Tuesday!
looks like this is going to be Clinton Vs. Maccain ?
ohh man, I want Obama to win. |
Re: Super Tuesday!
hmmm are people out there watching?
|
Re: Super Tuesday!
Not necessarily, Illinois is a more important state than any of the ones Clinton has picked up so far. Overall, the way things are looking, McCain may definitively emerge as the Republican choice tonight, though the Democrat nominee will probably still be undecided.
|
Re: Super Tuesday!
I heard Obama just need to get within 100 delegates of Clinton and the race will still go on past tonight. In addition delegates are assigned proportionately.

Re: Super Tuesday!
Exactly, since Democrat primaries are all proportional, as long as there are no blowouts, Obama and Clinton will stay relatively close in delegate numbers no matter who whens states.
|
Re: Super Tuesday!
Even though I'm going for Obama, It looks like Hillary is going to win big on Super Tuesday.
Obama is gaining more votes as time passes by, but Hillary still has the edge. I'm glad that more people are voting for Democrats. I truly want any Democrat to win in Nov. ;) On the other side, McCain is kicking ass!!! :) Bye Bye anti-immigration candidates Mitt Romney and Ron Raul. P.S All the Ali-Losers are going crazy right now lol. I believe that real Americans want CIR. McCain = CIR co-sponsor |
Re: Super Tuesday!
McCain has won the Northeast but he is not doing so well in the South. It seems that Huckabee is carrying the South, seemingly the true conservative to Southern voters. Fortunately for McCain, he is projected to win all of the Northeastern states, Illinois and Oklahoma, almost all of which are winner take all states. Notably, McCain is projected to win New York. With 101 delegates, McCain is sitting very well.
Huckabee's run is extremely surprising. I can't believe he has managed to do so well. However, predictably, Huckabee is leading in the Southern states suggesting his appeal is only restricted to Bible Belt states. The greatest news of tonight is that Romney has fallen so fast. Though of the leading challenger to McCain, Romney has garnered little support in the South and the Northeast. Romney is in third place in many of the southern states and has only won Massachusetts and Utah (because he is a Mormon). Unfortunately for Romney, Massachusetts allocates delegates on a proportional basis so McCain will also end up getting delegates from Massachusetts. Conclusion, McCain is hammering everyone, Huckabee is making some serious noise and Romney is done. |

Re: Super Tuesday!
All EYES ON CALIFORNIA.
California is the biggest prize of today and the polls have closed at 11 p.m. EST. 170 delegates for the Republicans and 370 delegates to the Democrats. As we all know, the Democrats allocate delegates proportionally based on a 15% threshold minimum of the candidates. So lets look at the Republican delegate allocation process: 159 district delegates are to be allocated to presidential contenders based on the primary results in each of the 53 congressional districts: each congressional district is assigned 3 National Convention delegates and the presidential contender receiving the greatest number of votes in that district will receive all 3 of that district's National Convention delegates. 11 delegates are to be allocated to the presidential contender receiving the greatest number of votes in the primary statewide. Currently, John McCain is leading by a wide margin with only 13% of the precincts reporting. |
