I'm a dreamer that left to 2 years ago

I was one of the old dreamers from back in 06, 07
I got married to a German after waiting more then 21 years in the states, I tell you it's better to have a regular life then to be wasting your life away... I will always be a New Yorker in the heart. Just wanted to share my story in case any of you were thinking of leaving.

Were you finished with you college degree before you left? And what is your birth country?

I was looking into universities in Germany, but they require the applicant to be conversant in German.

It is definately nice to see that there is life outside of this increasingly disappointing country.

:)

I would say, that if you are older and have education and your country is not absolutely terrible, it might be time to leave.

If there is a path that is reasonable to you, such as marriage or other petitions, then try to do something productive while you wait.

For the young, if you have not finished school, finish your degrees, it will be tough but I think it will be worth it, even for those who end up abroad.

As long as you can keep your selves improving in terms of education then it is time well spent in the U.S.

If you do not have education, meaning you have given up on a college degree. Then you are better staying for now. Future would be very bleak in the third world without a degree or significant education.

The thing I love about the U.S is that even on a lowish salary, you can still live decent if you play your cards right and are good with money management.

Any other country/abroad? Forget about it, you'll have to work your ass off for possibly very minimal returns.

I'll live in the shadows forever and continue trying to dodge deportation as much as possible. We all need to take a deep breather. The main concern is saving money and be ready to work under the table for the next 4 years, until we get a democrative president

I'm 33 I spent 21 years in NYC, got there at 10, the funny thing was that I received the DACA then met my now wife and she told me to come to Germany with her... I couldn't get my degree in my. But god willing I'll be going to school now, I wish you guys the best and yes there's live outside of the states.

Thank you for sharing your story. Glad you are doing better.

I would have loved to have vitised Germany, it will remain in my bucket list, but they too are having problems.

I think that everywhere you go, you will see that immigrants are having a hard time. Just look at Britian, the entire EU, etc. Canada seem to be the only bright light for now, but I'm not sure how long it will last.

I'm just hoping for the best. Hoping that Trump surprises us with moderation and that he turns out to be just like a regular politician, all speak but no action and full of hot air. lol

But his German is probably really good.

All kidding aside - if you have a choice of living a good life outside the US. Take it.

Only the right wingers believe the US is the only good place to live on this planet.
