California Unemployment Insurance

Just lost my job do to covid-19. I have never applied for EDD before but this time I may have no choice due to the economy. I know California allows DACA recipients eligible for EDD. My question is if it will be considered a public charge or what long term consequences can I expect if I collect? Any other people from Cali apply for it before?

Re: California Unemployment Insurance

No, it is funded initially by the state.

what about the $600 extra the federal government will pay you for up to 4 months due to the crisis? Would we qualify for that and will that be considered a public charge?
