Wife and I looking to get an apartment.

We're looking for places in San Mateo, down towards Redwood City/Palo Alto and Mountain View.

It's no secret the Bay Area is insanely over priced. For a 1 bed/1 bath, which is what we're looking for, we are finding them at an average of $2200 for 700sq ft.

How much are you guys paying for rent since the last thread and where are you living for context?

$900 a month includes utilities. I have one roommate - it’s a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo. I’m in NJ

Solid. If we were to get a 2bed/2bath here in the area with utilities, it'd probably run somewhere in the $4000 or $2000 each. Whack.

I live in Downtown San Francisco and I pay an insane amount for a 1bd/1bath compared to other cities.

$1915 for rent of a spacious 2 bed 2 bath townhome in a nice neighborhood in LA County.

I own my home in SF Bay Area. I pay $420 in Home Owners Association Fees tho.
