Discrediting the Opposition's Sources

Hey everyone.
Yesterday I e-mailed Mo because I found that most (if not all) of the websites, polls, studies, articles, etc, that ALIPAC and other nativists try to use against us are biased and anti-immigrant. Some are obvious, but some not so much. For example, after doing some research and reading of the Rasmussen Reports (which I know they always use) I realized they have a huge right-wing bias. This took a long time, however, because it was nearly impossible to find anything about the Rasmussen Reports. I decided to look into their CEO and this is what I found:

"Rasmussen Reports CEO, Scott Rasmussen "describes himself as having been an independent public opinion pollster for more than a decade". However, he "received $95,500 from the Republican National Committee and $45,500 from the George W. Bush presidential campaign as a campaign consultant for the 2004 presidential election."

Not only that, but he's a member of the "Evangelical Christian and is president of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association", a church that has denied requests made to use their pavilion for same sex civil unions."

We would like it if you could post articles that you see being repeatedly used, along with names and websites so we can all take the time to discredit each and every one.

Some websites I recommend are

http://www.rightweb.irc-online.org/
From Wiki: "The IRC Right Web provides documented biographical profiles."

http://www.mediatransparency.org/
From Wiki: "[This] project begun in 1999 which monitors the financial ties of conservative think tanks to conservative foundations in the United States. Its database tracks over 50,000 grants awarded since 1985, which total more than $3.2 billion USD."

If you could please add on to this list by posting articles that we can discredit and/or websites that expose these articles, that would be great! This will be a useful resource in not only spreading our knowledge, but in discrediting what they claim to be "facts". I also encourage that anytime you post facts, that you do this kind of research. It'll make our arguments even stronger.

Thank you!

P.S. I just realized the title should read "Discrediting the Opposition's Sources" but I can't edit the title :)

Right. Thanks, we'll be working on an 'indicts' page soon.

The other horrible sources are CIS, FAIR, Heritage Foundation etc.

Also, the MPI makes clear the best sources of immigration data

:)

Keep up the good work...

Please contact this reporter called McKenzie Cassidy at [email protected] concerning her article about the dream act.

Quote:

Many Florida residents believe that illegal immigration is harming their state and won't necessarily support reforms like the DREAM Act.
A study by the Federation for American Immigration Reform found that the state spends $3.4 billion each year to educate undocumented children. Overall, it determined that Florida houses 950,000 undocumented residents.
A Zogby Poll from April also reported that 71.3 percent of Florida voters believed illegal immigration had a negative impact on the state and only 36 percent of those surveyed supported amnesty or legalization for current undocumented residents.

It is not even right to use a well known documented anti- immigrant hate group like FAIR as a reliable source for how most floridians feel about the dream act. That zogby poll she referenced in her article was also commissioned by Fair.

Let's try to hold these reporters accountable.

How many more soldiers must continue to die as the first and second members of an entry team by getting shot or activating a booby trap or IED? Currently, most CQB and urban warfare training is done by companies that teach the same unsafe method of entry. During training, military and Special Forces trainees thank us for finally being able to learn something new and effective and not the same method that could teach just as easily teach themselves. To date, we have trained several military Special Forces groups currently working in Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa and other parts of the world. These groups have fully adopted the Israeli CQB and Urban Warfare methodology that we have instructed them.

An evangelical Christian is the same as a radical Muslim. Any religious person that hunts down minorities in the name of God; is a criminal.

keep fooling the masses. I will never listen to someone who believes that people rode dinosaurs as ponies.

I saw it in my own country under a communist dictator... and now I see these things in the U.S... stupidity really is infinite.
