In-state Tuition when moving

I currently live in Indiana and I got my high school diploma from Indiana. I’m now considering moving to LA or Denver. Both states are liberal, and offer instate tuition to DACA recipients. Although is the instate tuition (LA) only for those who qualify for AB 540? Can I stay in California for 1 year and establish California as my permanent place of residency, as in license, bills, etc. and still qualify for instate tuition? Also if anyone here is living in LA, I would appreciate insight on traffic, apartment rent, and jobs. I’d love any information about Denver as well, instate tuition being the big one.

-Thanks

Unfortunately, both California and Colorado only give instate tuition to students who attended HS in the state.

You can also try getting an online degree as some schools provide the same tuition to everyone and tend to be cheaper.

You could look into scholarships to pay for college. If I were you I would reconsider moving to LA from Indiana though. The cost of living is almost double of what it is in Indiana. There are cheaper cities in Northern CA. I myself went to college in Sacramento although housing costs have risen a lot in the past couple of years due to the influx of people moving to Sacramento from San Francisco.
