Airline Credit Card

Hey Folks,

I'm trying to get some input from y'all on your experience with airline credit cards. I've yet to bite that bullet since I used to fly on whatever airline had the shortest/cheapest tickets. The wife and I are thinking of signing up for one as the prospect of free flights/upgrades may be worth the loyalty to a single airline.

Since we live in the Pacific NW, Alaska, Delta, and Southwest seem to be the better options. Any thoughts or experiences?

Hawaiian Airlines is nice, but I can't see myself using them more than once every handful of years. What's your opinion on Delta?

How many free trips do you think you accumulate in a given year?

I could make recommendations, but it depends on what you want to do specifically. Like:

How many times will you travel per year?
What is your spending like based on certain categories?
Where do you hope to travel most domestically or internationally?
Do you plan to keep the card long or short term?

I would travel between 3 to 8 times a year. Mostly domestic, but once the AOS goes through I would also travel internationally.

Spending right now is across all categories. I mostly use my Costco Citi and Discover Cards. Been thinking about closing my Amex if I don't get the Delta Card.

I'd do long term. Not really interested in churning for sign-up bonuses. I just want something with decent rewards like free flights/checked bags/upgrades.

Do you travel for work or leisure?

Leisure. I fly primarily to So-Cal but I want to take a few trips to Texas, Alaska, and Louisiana.
