Congress likely to send taxpayers $1,200 checks in coronavirus aid. Here’s who qualif
So the US Senate just passed the latest COVID-19 bill by a vote of 96-0.
The US House of Representatives will most likely approve it tomorrow, sending it to Pres.Trump for signature. All tax payers MUST have a valid social security number to get the max amount per individual, which is $1,200, or $2,400 for a married couple, and add $500 per qualifying child. So everyone, even the children that are claimed, must have valid SSNs. If you make $75,000 or more, the benefit will decrease, and if you make more than 100,000, you don't qualify. There you have it, we qualify cause we got SSN! Make sure you have the most up to date information with IRS so they send you the check electronically or by mail. IRS website hasn't released any Q&As on this, perhaps cause it still hasn't become law. SO I guess Congress isn't completely useless after all https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/25/cong...ronavirus.html |

did I screw myself over for the bank deposit? I used the turbotax pay with refund option for this years tax return. I still had to include my bank account info but refund was process through another bank which then sent the refund to my bank account? I'm gonna have to wait the 4 months to get a check? I used bank deposit for the 2018 returns and still same account.

The 2018 refund you chose direct deposit or check by mail? And 2019 you used another bank account or same account as 2018? |

I wouldn’t file a claim just because I feel it’ll be used against us down the road.

Just curious. Are they printing money to do this? They are giving us money that they don't have, so what is the long term effect?

We are all eligible for it and I would like to point out that this is not a public charge and will not be used against you in the future.

Unfortunately this 1,200 is a drop in the bucket compared to the financial cataclysm that has befallen the world. |
