Franken's comments that it is not practical to depot illegal immigrants and on the need to set up a program that treats them fairly earned the group's praise.

On the Senate Judiciary Committee, one of Franken's assignments, he will have a chance to work on immigration policy."

Not trying to be too optimistic but i feel we have a few more than 53. Lately both democrats and the republicans have been working close together backdoor on immigration. The GOP have come to realize how important the Latino vote is and the democrats have been doing well lately to work with them on border security and work enforcement bills. Just last week the Obama administration was credited for taking first steps with ICE to crack down on Illegal work enforcement, I feel more optimistic this year than i have ever been on this bill or CIR. Past enforcement activity during the Bush administration was raids where hundreds of illegal immigrants were rounded up detained and then they were all deported. Under Obama, instead of deporting all of them their just gonna track them all down and fire them. Which means the republicans are soon going to run out of reasons. In other words they cannot say the democrats and the Obama administration are not willing to enforce law before and CIR. There is a basic understanding between both parties that deporting 10 to 15 million people are unlikely.

I predict if CIR fails end of this year. Which i highly doubt it wont pass. Durbin will still bring the dream act up and under obama people like Pryor, Dorgan, McCaskill, Lincoln, Nelson, Bennet, Hagen, Byrd and Baucus wouldn't say "Ney" So far they have all been working so close with Obama and i don't think they will go against him especially on the Dream Act since he made all of us a promise that he was gonna work hard to pass it. Plus dont forget the republican support Snowe, McCain, Lugar, Hatch, Collins and Martinez. So if it continues the way you see it, there will be nothing but light at the end of the tunnel. :-P

Whats working against us is not republicans but TIME. So basically all i could say to you is be prepared to CELEBRATE late this year or early next cause when in comes to senate flow and the house flow i dont see how it wont pass :arrow::razz::lol:

Yes Republicans have been working closely with democrtas on this immigration reform issue. Republicans have realized that legalizing all of us could very well mean thenm receiving more votes come election time. I know of many illegal like ourselves who are full on republicans and conservative to the core with the exception on immigration.

hopefully something will be passing to relieve us of our struggles.
