First to receive DACA protection, now detained after illegal crossing

Quote:

Carlos Martínez, a Tucsonan who was one of the first people to obtain DACA protection in 2012, lost his immigration status and is being detained in Eloy after he crossed into Mexico and attempted to return to the United States almost immediately in early August.

Quote:

“It was a moment of frustration,” said his mother Sylvia Baldenegro. “He was desperate.”

Baldenegro said her son, a 37-year-old University of Arizona graduate, has been frustrated and felt desperate in recent years due to unemployment and the impossibility of freely traveling between the two countries.

Quote:

She thinks that situation and the urge to see his family in Mexico, where he had not returned since his parents brought him to the United State when he was 9 years old, led Martinez to cross the border Aug. 7.

Less than an hour had passed, his father Salvador Martínez said, when his son regretted his decision and decided to return to the U.S.

Quote:

Martinez, who earned a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and a master’s degree in software engineering, has always aspired to work for large technology companies.

There is just so much in this story that I don't even know where to start smh.

Like what exactly he thought was going to happen crossing without permission...

A masters degree and can't find a job? Really, I know the job market is not that bad

I think he was just testing the system to see if he could return back in with inspection.

Natural selection at its finest lmfao.

College degrees do not entitle you to a career.
Having DACA wont allow you to go out and come back like nothing.
Left and regretted it and want to come back.

Utter stupidity.

They are blaming DACA for him not getting a job? Are you bloody serious?
And to top it off he wanted a "good" job.

Get the fuck out, too much of a pussy to join a trade or do something else.

No mercy for this guy kick him the f out.

I don’t understand - the guy had DACA and a master’s in CS - he should’ve been able to find a job somewhere in the US.

People are forgetting that degrees don't entitle someone to a job, or even qualify them for a job. You still have to earn it.

Sounds to me like he was book smart, but when it came time for him to put his beak to the grindstone he fell apart.
Sounds to me like he interviewed like crap and thought he was too good for entry level software positions.

Good riddance. Yet another fool with a paper that says he's educated.

How the hell are you unemployed in software LMAO? Is it even possible for a competent engineer to be unemployed? I feel like this violates a law of the universe.

Degrees do not in any way show intelligence, proof: half this forum has a degree but they are still dumb. It just proves you sat in a seat, and we're around people that know a little of something for four years.

I know a D grade guy from college, couldn't code for shit. Working as a software engineer right now cause he interviewed like a champ. It's not what you know, it's who you know.

Worse yet the terrorist group known as antifa sprouted from one of these campuses. If you want to decimate their ranks just raise their student loan payments on their Chicano studies degree.

Even the ivy league degrees don't prove intelligence, but rather hint towards leftist intolerance of free speech. How many times has Harvard been in the news for racism against the Yellow or preference of recruiting the black.

Remember when that Harvard student called the cops on a black student?
Or Harvard students shutting down free speech because they didn't like the speaker?

Eliminate a socialist today, prevent communism tomorrow. Hands off my taxes Democrat scum. No free college, no free healthcare, no handouts. No green new deal. AOC stilń would make a great pornstar.
