However, The Intercept reported in 2018 that this is "an idea rejected by an overwhelming consensus of conservative and liberal law scholars." A law written into the Constitution can only be ended through a new amendment.

If the president finally issues a long-awaited executive order limiting birthright citizenship, it will be up to the Supreme Court to resolve this issue once and for all," Hauman said.

According to The Hill report, the Trump administration is aware that it would immediately be challenged in court if they passed an executive order on the issue. They hope to get a ruling on whether the 14th Amendment protects birthright citizenship, according to one of the sources who spoke to The Hill and is familiar with the plans.

I am pretty sure this would violate the 14th amendment of the constitution. Most of these are for show and to create 2024 talking points. No need to panic

good a bunch of MAGATS would never pass the Murica citizenship test. Either way this would get struck down by the courts immediately. You can't override the constitution by executive orders.

Fucking Miller should just come out and say citizenship will only be granted if you have 2 white parents who are U.S. Citizens. If you are any other color you will need to earn your citizenship by agreeing to become slaves for the next 10+ years.

If he's competent enough to do it, he would of done it a long time ago. Thankfully, he's admin are full of idiots. If he kills it on the way out it might work to our advantage. Biden will put it back together and hopefully better this time.

Even if he were to kill DACA. It will actually work out for our advantage because Biden can easily put us under TPS due to the pandemic and no lawsuit or judge can end it. TPS would actually be better for us than DACA.
