Census 2020: Are you a Citizen?
The U.S. Census Bureau is poised to add a question to the next survey. Are you a US Citizen? Proponents argue that this question is not new and used to be in the survey back in the 1950's.
The Trump administration is taking a jab at blue states by reducing their federal funding and representation in D.C. Will you fill out your survey? |

No. Mainly because I'm a lazy ass.
Good programmers are lazy by nature. DRY KISS |
Re: Census 2020: Are you a Citizen?
It doesn't have your name on it so I don't see why not.

Re: Census 2020: Are you a Citizen?
Yes, its main purpose is to help the federal government allocate funding to where is needed, such as schools, roads, etc. Also, it does not include your name on it.

Re: Census 2020: Are you a Citizen?
I see this as positive. Most of the undocumented immigrants will lie about it and it will mess the number of illegals in the US. It will be easier for a bill to pass targetting a lesser amount of immigrants than the thousands as it's now. In fact, the numbers that they have now are already wrong - 12M. It's probably double than that. With this census, it may go down to 5mil or less.
I really doubt they will mark "Not a US Citizen" as they will be afraid of that. |
Re: Census 2020: Are you a Citizen?
except they'll use the lower amount to redistribute congressional representation. so (Califonia and such) would lose seats while other places with smaller immigrant populations (Pennsylvania and such) would pick up those seats. good luck getting an immigration bill passed that way.
