Tax refunds

What are all of you expecting? I’m expecting $3000, which is pretty awesome because I’ve only worked for half of this year and my effective tax rate (federal tax and FICA) is like 3%.

I got a piddly $1020 back this year. I claimed 0 exemptions and also got a bonus (~$4500). That $1020 is almost entirely from the refund on the bonus (bonuses are taxed at the max bracket of ~38%).

I can't imagine what most people are getting back this year -- probably almost nothing, even if they claimed 0 exemptions.
