There will always be an immigration issue. Current DACAers will be remembered as the original dreamers :/

I'm not sure there will be dreamers in the future because of the technology at the border increasing and the tracking that ICE has.
Also because of prioritized enforcement, recent overstays will be targeted first. We are likely the last generation of dreamers, at least there won't be 10K+ dreamers in future generations. |

But that's my view, whatever. |

I wouldn't wish this hell on any future dreamers.

You worry about yourself, they will worry about themselves

Re: come to think of it... this is really really tough issue
There will probably be a small population, but very negligible numbers, and we are talking about the distant future, and most of them haven't even been born yet. They won't know people already lived the struggle they might be living. There won't be that many because new laws will be put in place including surveillance, and increased border security.

Re: come to think of it... this is really really tough issue
future dreamers will lobby the current dreamers who will be in Congress, and this time we will see once upon a time dreamers vote to stall legislation lmao

Re: come to think of it... this is really really tough issue
no its not, if they legalized them 1986, they can easily legalize a much smaller population in2018

Re: come to think of it... this is really really tough issue
This is why the ultimate goal is a comprehensive immigration reform. The current system is tragically restrictive, and actually promotes EWI and visa overstay. Make immigration more reasonable (guest worker + seriously ramp up the employment-based & investment-based permanent immigration), and there won't be another generation of us going through this bullshit.
My guess is the Baby Boomer racist assholes will change their tune once they realize there aren't enough white kids with good salary to pay for their retirement & benefits. |

if we legalize it would also mean more ice and border security meaning there would be way less dreamers. Actually, there is already a low flow of new immigrants coming anyways. With more border security, less dreamers

Re: come to think of it... this is really really tough issue
They need to do away with the 3/10 yr bans for all childhood arrivals. If a child was brought across the border before they could realistically be held responsible for that decision they should be able to cross back without the ban even if they are over 18 when they decide to go back. I think this would drastically decrease future dreamer population in addition to the previously mentioned increased border security/enforcement.

Re: come to think of it... this is really really tough issue
100% border security would only stop 50% of illegal immigration. I, like many others on this forum, came on a plane with a visa. Realistically there's not much you can do to stop people coming to the US legally with their children and then staying here/leaving them here.
