Do I need a lawyer?

So I saw someone posting something about Washing DL and DACA...

I tried to get Washington DL and failed...

I live in CA atm but I lived in Washington for two months with my family's friend, and I tried to get DL from Washington, but it didn't work out...

I provided my expired CA DL, school transcript, yearbook, and my bank statement(I had it delivered to where I lived in WA). They were all legit and legal documents.

I passed the license exam and had 30days paper license. I think they did fingerprint me. However, cuz it was hard to get classes, I came back to CA. My license didn't come though. I called DMV at Washington after my paper license expired and they told me that there's hold on my DL cuz I needed a second interview, but I never went since my school already started at CA by the time I called them... This was 2 yrs ago.

Do you think I would be alrite?

I hope I don't need a lawyer cuz I really can't afford them.

I got a WA drivers license but I live in FL. Do y'all think this may compromise my application?

I used to have a WA license and live in FL as well, it's long expired, but I did everything legit so I'm not really worried about it, heck I'm even going to use a copy of it as proof of living here the past 5 yrs.

WA state identification is available to WA state RESIDENTS; legal and illegal.

The problem isn't that someone is undocumented; it is that the individual seeking it doesn't live IN Washington.

What are the requirements? What about DL?

So if you can get a State ID there then you can use the ID to get a DL?

1) The requirement for a WA id or license is you have to live in Washington. What part of it is it difficult to understand?

2)Yes.

How long do you have to live? What if you have a SSN and a out of state DL expired/unexpired?

So, technically:
Quote:

(3) For the purposes of obtaining a valid driver's license, a resident is a person who manifests an intent to live or be located in this state on more than a temporary or transient basis
http://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.20.021

Note the difference with Texas:
Quote:

You must prove that either your residence or your domicile is in Texas and that you have lived here for at least 30 days in order to apply for an original Texas noncommercial driver license or ID card.
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/DriverL...yReqNonCDL.htm

Honestly, it's not too big a difference except that, in practice, Washington requires people without SSNs to verify their residence, which effectively means that their seemingly lax regulations, requiring only manifesting an intent to live in Washington, become like Texas' "your residence ... is in [Washington] ... and ... you have lived here for at least 30 days" standard.

So if you have a SSN then you don't have to live in Washington for any amount of days?
