$2000 fine for undocumented
Not bad. $500 upfront and pay the rest within the probationary period.

Re: $2000 fine for undocumented
Pretty decent actually, the dateline to apply is anywhere between six and 12 months so it gives them plenty of time to save that much

Re: $2000 fine for undocumented
Thats a reasonable amount.

Re: $2000 fine for undocumented
Yea that is reasonable, I'm just confused as to why they have a 6-12 month window.. They should make till Obama leaves office which would be a 2-3 year window

That trigger was called a commencement or something, where DHS I think has to state measures has been taken to start securing the border even more in compliance with CIR standards. Then 10 years later, another trigger will be needed proving border security is over 90% effective before an individual under this process can apply for a GC. So basically once CIR passes, anyone who will be seeking to start the 10 year process, won't get any relief at all until the 1st trigger is issued, and this could potentially take longer than 6 months...So an individual is looking at possibly another 6 months-2 years+ of still being undocumented, even after this CIR passed...:| If I find the wording, I will post it for you if someone hasn't already. EDIT: Although, it may be possible that an individual can send in their application in advance so USCIS would have it in their pending files, and once this commencement is issued...then USCIS would already have the paperwork and could technically get approved a day after the 6 month timeline (if it does indeed only take 6 months for the commencement to be issued) |
Re: $2000 fine for undocumented
I'd pay it upfront, but those who wait on the 9th year will be paying much less in today's dollars :) $2000 is not chump change but reasonable. I guess I'll have to hold on before I buy that 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII lens.
