Dems eye legal challenge as Trump threatens national emergency

House Democrats are weighing a lawsuit if President Donald Trump pulls the trigger on a national emergency declaration to build his border wall, with party leaders eager to stop the president from doing an end run around Congress.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi declined to lay out exactly how House Democrats would respond to such an explosive move during a Thursday morning news conference. And senior Democratic sources cautioned that lawmakers will wait to see whether Trump actually goes through with his threat to unilaterally move money to build his wall on the southern border.

Man if Trump does this... you cannot rule out a liberal president declaring national emergency on climate change. The door swings both ways.

King Cheeto would lose this wild abuse of power if it were challenged in court. He falsely assumes his appointees will return the favor by ruling to uphold any crazy decision he makes.

It would be kinda ironic considering he went out of his way to reiterate that DACA via EO was an abuse of power. Its the pot calling the kettle black

He is not going to get the wall even if he makes a deal with the democrats. He is going to have to fight for every other bit of funding and any subsequent administration will abandon the retarded idea.

Building a wall is not a retarded idea. Every country needs some border security. Every president before him had built walls.

Israel built a wall and they keep finding miles of tunnels beneath it.

The only president who's built any sort of barrier was Bush 43, who put up fencing. Sometimes I wonder if you're just trolling here.

A wall won’t resolve the problem. If he truly wanted to end illegal immigration, he’d push for things like more use of tech at the border, including entry ports, and mandatory e-verify nationwide.

Or do what Japan does. Your visa expires there they're all over it.
