Trump officials say children of some service members overseas will not get automatic
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued a policy rescinding previous guidance stating that some children of U.S. service members and other government officials abroad are considered “residing in the United States” and automatically given citizenship under a section of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA)
Acting director of USCIS Ken Cuccinelli wrote on Twitter Wednesday evening that people were “freaking out over nothing,” describing the document as a “highly technical policy memo” used by career employees at the agency. The policy change triggered backlash from immediate Democratic lawmakers and presidential candidates. “This move by the administration will make it harder for Americans serving our country overseas to have families,” wrote Rep. Val Demings (D-Fla.). “This also appears to be an initial step towards ending birthright citizenship, something which the president has threatened to do—and which would be unconstitutional." https://thehill.com/homenews/adminis...rseas-will-not This Ken cockinelli guy is so dangerous! In the few weeks he has become USCIS Director, they are making it harder to get green cards and citizenship. |

Not even children of U.S. servicemen are safe. These are people who risk their lives for this country.

Cuckinelli is just an acting director, dude wont last the backlash.
He seems to not want to touch DACA at all he already put us apart from the other Deferred Actions. He is basically referring them all directly to ICE but not us. |
Re: Trump officials say children of some service members overseas will not get automa
Sounds like a dry run to ban birthright citizenship outright if there is not a big uproar about this. They also want to make sure that if a service member gets the natives pregnant and he doesn't want to deal with the child, he can just come back to the US and not file any papers and the mother can't get child support or get any kind of benefits. In other words, they didn't like what happened with all those half Korean and half Vietnamese kids who became citizens after those wars.

What Trump is doing here is to spite John McCain, who was born in Panama while his father served in the military and was stationed there.
Make no mistake that this was likely done intentionally for the reason stated above. This is a man who is a narcissistic prick that is deeply rooted in envy. A more bitter man, you cannot find. |
