Life outside the USA 1 year later (Fellow DREAMer

A little background

http://http://dreamact.info/forum/showthread.php?t=82071

It’s been officially over a year since I “gracefully” departed the USA after almost 19 years! I must say time sure flies by when you are not constantly worrying about your status or what certain politician said may or may not happen in the near future regarding DACA! I really do hope things work out for all my fellow DREAMERs and am rooting for whatever Democrat that can take that embarrassment of a president down. Yet, at the same time I must say that it sure is liberating to not have to rely on anyone but yourself to make your future what you want it to be.

Ok. Now to the point. I do not regret leaving at all! I’ve traveled to Europe 3 times since leaving to 6 different countries! I just returned again back Mexico, this time I stayed on two European countries for a month! I also got married!!!! Finally, after being together for 6 amazing years, we decided to get married in Europe because she is an EU citizen and always wanted to get married back home (hence the longer EU stay). EU is always a option for us, yet for now we love living in a beach resort town and only HALF a block from the beach! I got a wonderful view of the ocean from our bedroom!

Funny thing about is that working from Mexico hasn’t impacted at all our job growth. We’ve both actually have gotten raises and even she got a promotion while working remotely from home! Best thing is that all the amenities we are accustomed to are readily available and at reasonable prices. Theres also a large international community in this area. As an example, just the other day at the gym I was the ONLY Mexican (trainers don’t count) working out! We had people from Australia, England, US, Germany, Slovakia and Canada! The kicker is that although I stated I was the only Mexican working out, my trainer stated that I was neither from here or there! Apparently I have an accent (when speaking Spanish) that I never noticed until I moved to Mexico!

We’ve also NEVER felt unsafe while being out and about during the day or night alike. We do understand that we live in a resort town with 24hr security and all, but even going to town we’ve never experienced anything that would make us feel unsafe. Regardless, like in any city, we are alway diligent and ensure that we don’t put ourselves in any type of bad situation.

Overall, we are just enjoying life at the beach and love PV, Mexico. Maybe one day we will grow tire of it and decide to live someplace else. Maybe one of the EU countries, maybe Canada, maybe a South American country, or Asian, or Australia! The point is, we have a choice! That is the freedom o longed for all my life while being “caged” in the US. I am not saying my plan is perfect or anyone can or should do it, but I am saying so far, it’s working for us. Good luck fellow DREAMERs!

This is why I don't understand why European dreamers. They have it easy. Just go home. Move to another eu nation. There are lots of inferior eu nations to pick.

Then once your ban for illegal time expires apply legally. There isn't even a backlog for eu.
