My story for you dreamers:) I was one of you
 

Some of you might remember me, some of you are new so you probably dont. I came to US 16 yrs ago. Currently i live in Ireland. My parents and my US Born sister live in New York, which i have not seen any of them for the past 14 months...Will i see them again?! Who knows?! Thats life!

Me, Juan Gomez, mblueparadise, and taskgirl were i would say the originial 4 dreamers that fought for the Dream Act to be voted on the first time. We succeded we had our vote, but it failed but we did it, some of us succeded, some of us moved on..We went to DC.... I remember my final words to Senator Durbin when i meet him... which i knew would determine my life. "Please Senator Durbin give us the vote, i cant wait no more".. He smiled and said " I will, I will, and he did.......We failed, but he kept his promise. That was enough for me..To this day, although the vote failed the man kept his word.....It hurt me so bad when he gave his speech after the vote..That was it for me, every word he said, was meant for every dreamer that suffered, or is suffering now..

His final words were, our day will come, and they will! .....My probably never will, imagine my pain now. Half i hope the US will burn in damn hell for my suffering, second half for the opportunity it gave!....Keep fighthing guys dont give in! Some of the late dreamers cant do it no more, but i know you guys can! I see it on the boards

I didnt go back to Ireland (not my homeland), thats where the jobs were..

I can't believe it has been that long already,times do change & I'm quite sure the others,yourself & Durbin did everything that was possible to make sure Dream act could possibly come up for a vote.It was the same when I tried about a year earlier to see if CIR[S.2611] could possibly pass in 2006 through the House,which it could but Speaker Hastert & his majority of the majority rule derailed everything & anything legalization related has had quite a few problems.I have no idea if the Democrats will make any difference,but one thing I have learned is that it is extremely difficult for both parties in Congress to give up their divisiveness no matter the issue.

Nothing but respect for you, brother, and good luck with your work and international endeavors. I know a lot of us cannot wait to see the world.

You are definitely invited to the Dream Act 10-year-reunion. I think MariaG1987 and Nick are organizing it.

Of course we remember you. Who could forget the guy with the Harry Reid user pic, lol. You were one of the top members during 2007 and your activism was really invaluable. I loved those "call in" threads, especially when we were able to fill up all the senator's voicemails.

Thanks so much for all your help during that time. And good luck to you in Ireland. And yes, I'm planning the 10 year reunion party.. in about 8-9 years. But you're definitely invited! :P

i remember you.... you were awesome during that time and your contribution was priceless.... thank you for still believing in us!
