Airports.

Hey guys have any of you flown in the last couple of months?

idk what the rules for flying are now since they changed june 1st. (well internationally as in you gotta have your passport anywhere and everywhere) the last time i flown was in 07 and everything was fine. i have a valid ID and i know they don't swipe it or anything just look at it.

but my friend said she went to the airport and theres a sign that says you will need your complete name on your boarding pass..although i knew that ive always just put down my middle and last name (thats the name im called and i go for) but now she says i gotta put my first and the others because it said if the name didn't match you would get pulled over?

im a little confused because ive flown with only my two names and its never given me such a hassle..but because on june 1st the rules were changing do you think they might give me trouble??

is anyone flying soon to florida or anywhere else that can assure me that flying is ok?

my dad is always trying to scare me with stuff like this... he's legal but doesn't live in this country but...somehow he reminds me of how illegal i am everyday..

so i just need assurance of people who are in my exact situation...because you guys have really helped me and have been able to take some of my fears away.

so any info would be greatly appreciated.

I flew in March and April this year and everything was fine as long as you have a valid government issued ID. And that regulation of the first and last name is true, my friend's name was messed up in the boarding pass, they let him through security but told him to not let it happen again.
You'll be fine, no reason at all to be nervous, I've flown many times (Colorado, Nevada, California, Arizona, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Utah, Texas) recently with just my ID and I've had no problems at all. Let me know how it is in Florida! I'm planning on going next month :)

K-man is going to get mad at you guys. I have flown to Texas on April and they asked for a visa on my passport. Because of that I paid for my las vegas trip but didn't go. Am i bitter? naaaaahhhhh. Becareful!

If you have a valid, unexpired, government issued ID such as a license or state ID or a valid passport with an VALID visa, you are able to fly in the United States.

If you're worried about the name thing... when you get your ticket, type in your name exactly how it appears on your valid ID.

The full name thing has been on for a while, at least since last year.

I'm flying Saturday.. My ticket only has my first and last name, but my ID has my middle name, too. I never use my middle name for anything, so I didn't even think to put it on my ticket. Do you think I'm going to have any problems?

:confused::confused:

Nope, I also have a middle name on my ID but never on my boarding pass and I have never had problems for it, as long as you have your first and last name spelled correctly.
