need a bit of help!
Hi!!! just wondering if someone had the answer or a bit of advice to my question. i have been in the U.S since i was six....but on a sunday when i was 13 i got deported! no worries i was back here in the U.S on monday! (may i add that i even did my homework). i am now 20 and still here, going to college, majoring in U.S history (how ironic) i was just wondering if being deported about 7 yrs ago will affect me if the dream act passes? plz help!!!!

Re: need a bit of help!
How did you get back? Student visa?
Eitherway, the 7 years of leave is way over the 180 day limit set by the Dream, unfortunately I don't think you qualify. |
Re: need a bit of help!
I don't think she said she was gone for seven years I think she said she was deported on a Sunday and was back in the States by Monday ... right?

This MAY affect because it will not be considered good moral character. |
Re: need a bit of help!
I don't think anyone here is qualified to make the assumptions being made. Could he/she qualify? could he/she not? She was thirteen? Is she even in the system? How old is 13 to be conscious enough to know the consequences of her actions at that age? I mean how old is 15 for that matter?
Seriously though, I don't think anyone's answers on here are valid until DREAM passes and everything is set in stone. In the mean time you're welcome to help pass it. -Carlos |

Re: need a bit of help!
yes they did fingerprint me....but i didnt think it would matter if i got deported and then came back. i ve been here for seven consecutive yrs....i still go to school and wouldnt all of us be in the same situation? i mean we are technically breaking the law whether they catch us or not is a totally different thing. either way, one of us is right, we should just wait for DA to pass, i wish you all the best of luck!!!
