There are those Mexican IDs that you can get in any Mexican Embassy. It counts as a valid ID.

You can also open a bank account with one of those and get a debit card with your picture on it...Do you have a school ID??

Yeah, you can get a "matricula consular" ID AND a passport from a Mexican embassy.

Those are very useful, especially the passport.

Your birth certificate in order to get them, but I'm not sure of what other documents you need.

Great ideas. The consular is really helpful for a lot of school things. Having a bank card with your photo ID is also really useful.

Congrats on turning 18. I hope you are getting laid often at such a young age.

im not sure if this has been asked before, but can you use your matricula as an ID when boarding planes?

I dont know if this has been asked, but if asked by an authority for an ID is it a good idea to show them your matricula. I know some cops can be total assholes if you have no form of identification.

Is it possible to get an I.D. made if you aren't from Mexico? I turned 18 last month and I'm from Poland...

Fellow polish dreamie! :)...and as far as the I.D goes, I think you pretty much have to rely on your passport.

I am colombian, and there are some places around in miami that will print out these neat little ID's using the information from your passport, but then it is up to the person that sees the ID to allow it or not.
Passport is an ID, but I would be scared of going out with it, you don't know the people out there, if it gets lost of stolen I don't want to find out what will happen, was specially worried to come out with it when I turned 21, but that's why you have a designated driver, hopefully he does not get drunk and takes good care of the passport for when you need it.

don't know if this applies to every country, but at least for my country of origin, colombia, you can get a citizenship card, its government issued to it should be accepted in most places, and by most people that ask for an ID... maybe.
