US deportation flights on the rise

Re: US deportation flights on the rise
4200 a week
I guess we would have to ask how many were deported crossing the border and how many were deported due to any form of violation or because they were picked up in a raid or something. I would guess the increase in numbers is largely based on the tougher, multi-billion border system. But its like someone else mentioned, the idea behind 'the enforcement arises in order to appease the xenophobes' into considering something that might build a road to legalizing many individuals. |

^^That total number is actually at a recent historic low.Former President Clinton actually did more removals according to Government statistics than the Bush administration, but the immigration laws definitely became much harsher under the Bush Administration for obvious reasons. For other immigration statistics concerning removal you can always check it out at the DHS site.
DHS under this administration appear to be expanding criminal checks in jails nation-wide so I wouldn't be surprised if this is the reason why deportation flights are on the rise. |
