Re: Airport information. Going to hawaii
I'm curious on this same question. Although from what I've heard, you wouldn't want to risk it. They say that some people might question you about your visa, and some may not. If they do, and your answer sounds fishy, they can take you aside and do some "further questioning" with immigration involved. BUT.. this is just what I've heard and researched. Some people say that's good enough, and all you need is identification. I guess it depends on where you go and who you deal with. Hope that helps, somewhat

Re: Airport information. Going to hawaii
I've used my passport (with no visa stamp) at least 3 times in the last 5 years, and I've never had any problems. Just open it up to the ID page and you shouldn't have a problem.

This issue (flying with an unexpired passport) has been discussed many times before, as well as the associated risks. Please use the search function

ultimately, there was a thread before with some people talking about having completed trips to and from hawaii with no problems, I am also taking their information and word into consideration. |
Re: Airport information. Going to hawaii
i have flown before and never had any problems. eventhough hawaii is part of the us, its totally different. i've asked bunch of people and they told me not to risk it.and frankly i agree with them. why dont you try to go to hawaii with your passport that doesnt have a visa and let me know how that goes

Re: Airport information. Going to hawaii
I know people that knows what they are talking about and you shouldn't go to Hawaii without a US ID/Driver's License if you an illegally in the US.
Flying to Hawaii is more dangerous than flying to New York. The security in Hawaii check deeper and it's not recommended that you go there. If you entered the US legally, with inspection, just marry your boyfriend and get a green card and fly to Hawaii in a few months. |
Re: Airport information. Going to hawaii
Been a lurker here for a while so decided I would come out of the woods and help. I actually recently got married and traveled to Hawaii with my wife who is a US Citizen for our honeymoon. I had no problem traveling on my passport with no stamp or visa in it, in Hawaii the TSA lady did skip through the pages but she never commented on the missing visa and just gave me back my passport, kinda had me nervous for a minute. Seeing that you are just booking a one way trip from what I understand, I wouldn't sweat it, just be cool, calm and friendly with the TSA agents, my wife chatted them all up as she knew how nervous I was traveling because of all the doom and gloom I read here, but it was smooth sailing both ways, even when TSA agents did ID checks at the gate they still just checked the info page. Good luck, but I wouldn't let fear stop me from traveling again if you really needed to, if it makes you feel better try to leave from a regional airport with little to no CBP presence.
